Locals & friends recommended this old town Chania restaurant & we see why. You're sitting on a busy, cobblestone street which is exciting (lots of kitties come up to say hello) & the food is wonderful. We tried Greek salad throughout Crete & Tamam had the best, by far. Be sure & make a reservation in summertime as they book... More

As we live near Chania we've eaten at Tamam on many occasions and have only been slightly disappointed on one occasion - Christmas Eve 2015. The original restaurant is in a historic Turkish baths bit the business has expanded with a modern section the opposite side of the narrow street. To us the original building has much more atmosphere than... More

We had dinner for 4 in Tamam after we had tried to get into to Portes, but couldn't even find the place. Luckily Tamam was excellent. The place itself is a former Turkish bath (hammam), which makes for an interesting environment for eating- the center of the room is a big square depression where the bathers would have doused themselves... Saturday night in particular is a very enjoyable experience. The food is based on a meze menu and is of good quality. On Saturday evening there is live traditional music and is very popular so booking is recommended.

A favorite among Chania visitors. Wonderful service. You can sit outside along the walkway and people watch or go inside. The assorted fritters are unique, I like the tomatoe. Prices are reasonable and the food is fresh and delicious. They have a wine tasting event you can sign up for.
