We were so tired from exploring the island and just wanted to sit and watch the sunset but didn't want the hassle of being "talked" into a restaurant. This place was not like the others which appealed to us. No one was outside talking us in- the menu which seemed direct from a Mom who cared appealed to every home... More

We were in Naxos Sept 2016 for two weeks and visited this taverna regularly at lunch time - it never let us down.

The food was very good, especially the tzatziki (they used garlic) and some of the oven baked eggplant dishes. We had two small children with us, and it was no problem at all.

We went there based on our hotel' suggestion. At first the impression was good. Restaurant with arbor view, attractive menu, everything that makes you think that's a good choice. But then comes the deception. The service was terrible and the food was actually just ok. Not bad but nothing exceptional. We've had much better food for the same price elsewhere in... More

We had a 2 hour wait here for our ferry. We walked in early whilst they were still prepping for lunch. Getting an expresso coffee and free wifi was no problem. The smells coming from the kitchen with Mama cooking were amazing. I had the best stuffed eggplant ever, roast pork belly, and lamb with pasta all delicious.. It is... More

What a super little backstreet gem with great views. We popped in for lunch on a quiet Wednesday. It was gorgeous. We only had meatballs and a Greek salad but I am desperate to go back and try the roast chicken most of the locals seemed to having.

We went each day for lunch, it was so good. Most people have complained about the service but that is just how they are in Europe. Everyone is super laid back and not in a hurry to move service along. The baked feta, green beans, roasted chicken with Greek potatoes and calamari are to die for. Just writing about it... More

Been there twice. It depends on their mood if they spoil you or ignore you, if they treat you like a king or just quickly throw it on your table.

For the last years taverna boulamatsis was well known for outstanding food and friendliness and we were frequent visitors. The friendliness is still there but food is no more outstanding but good. Maybe we just had bad luck but we were disappointed by that. Do not get me wrong, the taverna is still very good but something was missing this... More
