Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Leave plenty of time to relax and soak it all in! Do plan on spending some money to take a taxi down from, and back to Oia- or trek the stairs. It was actually easier going up than down. **Please don't take the donkeys... ***...seriously, the whole experience from the atmosphere, ambiance, service, food,... everything is not to be missed. So much so that I'm even considering going back to Santorini, if not just for one night during my (very tightly scheduled) return back to Athens/Crete and trip to Zakynthos next year- just to go back to this restaurant!! Well priced as well- I believe, with a 25% tip came to around $120 for me (I splurged though), - for a grilled octopus starter, bread and olive oil (they do charge), a Greek salad, large portion (you order by the weight) grilled seabream, side vegetables and rice, 2 large glasses of rose, sparkling water, coffee, and a dessert- yup- told you I splurged- clearly had left overs pretty much for another nice sized meal... so, I suppose in theory, that cost would've fed 2 people. P.s.- chef- 30 years plus in hospitality so I am rather confident in what I believe is tasty, well crafted, quality food and service.More

The Taverna is a fun and tasty place to visit down in the Bay. Definitely worth stopping by for a bite.

We selected raw whole fish from an iced display of the day’s catch. It was priced by weight before cooking and serving. The fish was fantastic and came with sides of rice, broccoli, and carrots. We sat outside by the water; some tables were under...a roof and some were not. Dessert of warm lava cake with ice cream was rich and intensely chocolate.More

The restaurant's location is perfect! Breathtaking views. The staff are very friendly and they make you feel right at home. The fish is freshly caught from the sea and is more than amazing! Definetly recommend.

WOW , this restaurant was just amazing, the food , the service , the view and location. We sat right by the sea whilst the sun was setting in the distance just beautiful. We had the santorini salad and grilled octopus for starters , absolutely...fabulous. Main course lobster spaghetti, which was just the best . We had a throughly enjoyable evening they even treated us to dessert on the house . I highly recommend this restaurant it really was just fabulous. I would say get a taxi as it’s a long walk down and after a drink or two a long walk back !!!More

We went here for lunch at about 2:30. They asked us if we wanted bread and water, which we did. We ordered the Greek Salad and the Red Snapper. The Snapper was as fresh as one could only imagine. I’ve never had fish this fresh...and tasty. Considering the fish was the best I’ve eaten anywhere, I would recommend Katina without hesitation. The house white wine is a perfect compliment.More

Very tasty food (we had grilled fish and local wine) and great views. It was very windy so we had to eat fast but it was delicious. Very friendly staff. And Gordon Ramsey was there!

We came here for dinner after our sunset boat tour. Our hotel had helped us to reserve a table ahead of time so we were seated right in front of the water. Great chill vibes and service. We had eggplant dip, seafood risotto (amazing), and...fresh fish grilled to perfection!More

Our hotel made us a reservation here for lunch after a boat tour. We showed up and there was a reserved table right on water front. We went into fish counter and picked a fish to be simply grilled for the two of us (hotel...charges by kilo, 1 kilo fish perfect for 2 of us). Enjoyed a bottle of wine and some fried eggplant and zucchini while our fish was simply grilled with olive oil, herb and lemon. Food could not have been fresher, very happy with our choice.More

We had a wonderful lunch here. It's laid back but the food is excellent. Try the grilled octopus. When we were waiting for a taxi, they brought us icecream. Really friendly place. A great spot for lunch.

Incredible food & amazing view. We were given the recommendation of Taverna Katina by our hotel when we suggested we wanted to have lunch in Amoudi Bay, and we couldn’t have been happier with the recommendation. Food was incredible - the best octopus & red...snapper we’ve ever eaten. It’s a must when visiting Amoudi bay! Staff were v friendly too.More

If you're going to Ammoudi port, which you should if you're heading to Oia, then this place is a good spot for lunch/dinner. We shared a few dishes; the greek salad, fried courgettes and anchovies. All of them were lovely, fresh tasting and flavourful. The...location is also great, we sat at one of the tables right by the boats which was great on a bright sunny day. The only downsides are that it feels a little rushed, like they want you in and out quickly, and there are a lot of people passing by constantly which can make you feel a bit squeezed in. But overall a good place to stop for food.More

Four of us ate here for dinner. The ambience and the service were great! We enjoyed grilled peppers, santorini salad, mussels, grilled squid, fried squid, grilled octopus and grilled sea bream which were all excellent and enjoyable. However we also ordered a whole grilled lobster...which came out over cooked and dry. This was not acceptable especially considering the cost of 65 euros. The waiter asked how we enjoyed the meal and I told him we enjoyed everything except the lobster. They brought us two free desserts and one glass of wine but still charged us for the lobster. If I had been the chef I would not have served the lobster.More
