Ok so it's windy days in Patmos and they make you cranky. But just as the locals bemoan what Vagellis has become, we couldn't find anything to contradict them. They couldn't find our reservation. The two ladies at the entrance cold and unapologetic. The back terrace was a collection of frozen bodies trying to hide from the wind. The appetisers... More

When you visit a greek taverna and they ask €2,50 for one Liter of water, then you have to ask yourself if you're still in Greece. In Greece, water in tavernas was always for free. Ok, now they serve bottled water (costs €0,15/Liter) and they try to rip off the customers. NO! That's not hospitality! That's greed! A shame! Food... More

We went there last night only to find that they are out of vegetable pasta, wild greens tart has meat in it; they are out of vegetarian salads as well, only option left is greek salad. And no pita bread left either.

We paid 65€ for 3 starters and a salad and 2 beers! We ordered octopus which was preheated and had a crust on it! Simiako garidaki which is very small shrimps which were preheated as well! The only thing that was ok was the Talagani fried cheese which was good cause it was just cooked and the salad! The only... More

This used to be a classic taverna. Now they have invested in a complete face-lift and changed the menu to 'fusion'. Predictably, prices, as well as face, have been lifted. Not all the dishes are successful. A starter of ' Cretan eggs with butter' turned out to be egg and chips. Their classic pork special has been replaced by simple... More

An event we who love Patmos have been waiting for since, well, Saint John had a well publicized vision of the Apocalypse. A truly creative and careful chef has taken over the island's primo location in the tiny square that is the center of life, secular and religious, in Chora. If you -- and I include the island's cats --... More

Really nice location, and the waiters are super friendly! The food is really tasty especially the "pork rolled in a paper"! One thing that I didn't like was how fast they were with serving the food! - much too fast!!

Hard to beat the atmosphere sitting in the square eating and drinking in such a place. Goat is fantastic. Likewise, Rabbit and Pork. Staff is very attentive and always something to look at. Important to make reservation. Will be back. Fred
