Wonderful food and service in this busy and bustling city centre restaurant. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent - I enjoyed the pan-fried plaice with prawns and dillnaise and the roast beef with fried egg pickled cucumber and soft fried onions....Have a shot of aquavit for digestion!More
Just delicious classic danish food with a friendly and very helpful staff. The in house made aquavit is a must try with numerous choices.
Flamboyant greeter and wonderful staff. Fresh made danish sandwiches cozy place and again reservations recommended,
Food was not bad but expensive. The worst part of dinner was the behavior of a waiter. We had the reservation until the 10 pm. At the 8.45 pm he told us to leave the table but we hadn't finish our dinner
We were so impressed with this very lovely cosey restaurant. We had the lunch sharing platter - an incredibly delicious array of fish dishes, thick slices of succulent pork, red cabbage and gerkins, plenty of bread and butter and flavoursome cheese with plum condiment. The...food was cooked perfectly, presented beautifully and tasted delicious. And the service was attentive. We sat downstairs in the beautiful and stylish restraurant, decorated with many sea inspired pictures, reflecting Copenhagen's heritage. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant and would definitely return. An amazing experience!More
Excellent young lady who served us and guided us through the meal. Made great suggestion and really enjoyed sharing her food with us. Excellent food, which she paired expertly with homemade spirits. Really unique and fun experience. Part of the joy of travel is Learning...about different foods and cultures. This was delicious, educational and fun.More
Old style location, downstairs but luminous. Danish food, great harring plates and a surprising apple cake. Service very friendly a d helpful
Simply amazing. Im guessing its not for everyone but for me the best Smörebröd in Copen. The bread that comes with it great. The dishes look great.
What a fun restaurant! The huge variety of traditional Danish open-faced sandwiches made for a fun dinner, definitely bring your appetite so you can try several of them! The shrimp and herring sandwiches were particularly delicious and we loved the rhubarb trifle.
If you are looking for authentic Danish food, this is the place to go. We walked in without a reservation, were greeted warmly and seated at a cosy table downstairs. We started with a herring platter (cured, curried and fried) with delicious rye bread and...Danish butter. Our mains were delicious. My husband had Skagen toast, an open faced sandwich with a fried bread base, topped with plump, sweet shrimp in a dill remoulade. I had a fried filet of plaice, topped with shrimp in the same sauce. All washed down with schnapps. Thanks so much to the staff for their excellent service and great recommendations.More
Had a great dinner experience of a traditional Danish cuisine today. I had heard a lot about this place and (unluckily) tried to get a table as a walk-in the prior day. However, the place was fully booked and so decided to reserve a spot...for today. The staff was helpful in arranging for a booking. Coming to the menu, the pan fried herring and the salmon balls were both excellent! The fennel aquavit paired amazingly well with the herring. Our waiter Anas (not sure if I spelt it correctly), was very helpful, sharp and quite entertaining, and helped us with the different items on the menu, especially for special dietary requirements for my spouse. The food and service made the visit a memorable one. Will definitely visit next time I am in Copenhagen to try out the other herring smørrebrød's on the menu.More
We were super lucky that they could squeeze us in and gave us a table for an hour and a quarter as this restaurant is really booked up! The staff are super friendly and efficient and the food delicious. There’s a vast range of open...sandwiches (we tried herring, veal liver, braised veal, meatballs) all tasted amazing. So glad we had the opportunity to eat in this well-known and loved traditional restaurant in Copenhagen!More
Hotel recomeneded for Danish Food, was surprise that a lot of locals were there. Menu was a little confusing but waiters were a big help in explaing. Food and service was great. Tried Aquavit (yum), local beers, and too much food. Was a very fun...evening.More
