We chose the "Perch's classic ceremony" which has all one can wish for: sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea, of course. All is high quality, ambience and surroundings are authentic, and service is generally fine, albeit a bit stressed. The noise level can be a bit...More

We wanted to experience a 'tea' on our trip to Scandinavia and this place was interesting to us because we read that it serves the Royal Family...I mean if the tea is good enough for the Queen of Denmark then it's definitely good enough for...More

The outside of the building is being renovated so it was covered in scaffolding. Inside builders were doing some repairs to the windows when we arrived so not the best atmosphere. Service was very slow and tea was brought a long time before the scones...More

Again this year we visited Perch's Tea Room - and selected the Classical Ceremony starting with a glass of Cremant. The menu was again delicious and we enjoyed the clam and quiet surroundings and the fact that we were able to talk together, as the...More

I should declare that I have taken tea in England many times, which probably biases my opinion. I know Perch's tea well. They make fine tea (although expensive relative to other equivalent quality tea such as F&M's). I was therefore looking forward to taking Afternoon...More

Affordable afternoon tea with lovely staff. They even accommodated for a friend who was vegetarian/gluten intolorent/lactose intolorent. Reserving a table is recommended.

Description
A.C. Perch's Tea Shop & Tea Room is the oldest tea shop in Europe.

Niels Brock Perch opened his little shop in Kronprinsensgade 5 in the year 1835, and it hasn't changed since. Naturally, the shop has been renovated since then, but apart from electric light and some staff, everything has stayed tea same.

The Perch family owned the shop until 1894, when the Hincheldey family took over. Today the 4th generation is in charge of the shop, and not seldom 3 generations operate behind the counter at the same time.

Because the shop is a family business, we have been able to serve our customers personally, - which means that the customers are familiar with the faces behind the counter. It is our deepest wish that the customers feel welcome here, and politeness and friendliness are some of our major deeds.
