The waiters are all very friendly and attentive and are happy to answer questions. To food is delicious. It took me a bit to get used to the way the food more blended in with the plates rather than stand out but it had a calming effect that I liked. The starter snack was som finely slices mushrooms on som sort of cracker served on puffed grains – I cannot remember all ingrediens but it was delicious and a fun blend of textures in the mouth. The first starter was som sort of white fish finely diced with white currants and chestnuts I believe agin a good mix of flavours and texture Second starter tatar of beef with pine shoots with a lid of something I forgot. Unfortunately I am allergic to pine so I had to push that aside, but the one taste I had of it showed that is rounded off the delcate taste of the beef The main was roasted mallard with grilled yellow beet, licorices herbs, plum vinegar and duck jus. Again very flavorfull and tasty Dessert, jasmin ice cream with Danish plums, meringue and ice cream sandwich with plum kernels. Especially the ice cream sandwich was great but both desserts played well together. We got a wine pairing to go with the menu and again well chosen. All in all we had a lovely evening and will be back. P.S. The restaurant felt very safe and had good measures regarding COVID-19

My family came to formel B to celebrate Christmas and mark our last night in Denmark, and what a fantastic experience it was! The wait staff are both efficient and entertaining. We asked many questions and they were patient, casual yet professional. We enjoyed our night thanks to their wonderful hospitality. The food was amazing. 2 of us had the 7 course menu and 2 of us had the 5 course menu, so you can say we pretty much tried everything. Each dish was a performance for flavors. I personally liked the hamachi with apples, pickled seaweed, aromatic seeds, broth with dashi and whey. It was light, but each spoon was a blend of complex flavors. Creamy and savory. Light and intense. I also liked the beef tartare as it was so smooth and creamy with its combination of flavors. My family members liked the roasted cod which surprised us with its wasabi like sauce, while the mallard with grilled plums replicates rich buttery notes with a taste of grill while keeping the palette light and balanced. Honestly the caviar, roasted deer and even the tempered potato were outstanding dishes. It is hard to pick when each dish was a different level of culinary joy. If I had to point out some room for improvement it would be (1) the dessert, which lacked focus and appeared to have too many things happening at the same time, or too simple that it appeared plainly as a sweet (2) the toilet because the soap, mirror and tap were built clearly for Scandinavian heights. It is not very friendly for Asians. But I would be picking bones here really. I did spend quite a fair amount here but I think it was well worth the experience. I will recommend formel B for its strong Danish roots yet brave experimentation with Asian flavors. The result is a collection of dishes with very original interpretations of quality and sustainably sourced ingredients.

Formel B was delightful. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant did their thing when it came to food and wine. The sommelier was on point and as I like to state in these reviews if you go to a Michelin star it’s best to do the wine paring because it makes the food experience that much better. The price here depending on what you get could hit as high as a three star rated restaurant but it’s worth it.

Disclaimer: I am reviewing formel B through the lens of a restaurant that has been awarded a Michelin star. The food was good and some dishes delicious. But I did not feel they really raised the bar. While there were surprises, there were also misses with a couple of dishes being underwhelming. Take for example the fish dish with mushrooms in nori and a morel. I wish I had 4 of those morels on the plate, because they were amazing. The rest was too salty and frankly boring and bland. There is also some confusion as to which menu is which. As such, when I got a dessert that looked (and tasted) pretty underwhelming, I could not stop myself and ask what the delicious-looking baked Alaska going to another table was. I coughed out some more money and got that delicacy. So overall hit or miss. Service was sometimes friendly, sometimes a little too "sophisticated," but more importantly pretty weak. Plates came from all sides with arms reaching across customers. Plates sat in front of me for a while before they were removed. When I had a request, I felt that that I was asking for a huge favor. Frankly, a lot (yes, a LOT) to be learned for Michelin status. So what was memorable? The baked Alaska and the toilet a la Star Trek. And this, to be frank, is just not enough to entertain me and my palate for an evening.

To be fair, we went on a Monday and they were obviously both understaffed and training new staff. Service was thus spotty and you could feel the stress of the kitchen and all the staff. They nearly served a course with dairy to one of the members in our party that had a dairy allergy. Fortunately they caught the mistake in time. The wine pairings were horrible. Please do not try to serve me wine from Denmark. It tasted as good as you would expect. Some other stumbles too on wine. The place did come highly recommended by multiple people. So perhaps we caught them on an off night. Disappointed.

My experience at this 1-star Michelin restaurant was a cascade of disappointments. Culinary letdowns included bones in two out of five courses – one in the fish fillet and another in the meatball with the quail dish, highlighting a concerning lack of attention to detail. Seating arrangements proved equally disappointing, with us being placed next to the restroom despite the availability of two empty tables. When we questioned this choice after the dinner, the assistant manager stated that they placed everybody for the best seat, but our "best seat" turned out to be next to the bathroom. This explanation, coupled with the apparent intentional grouping of three separate Asian parties, who arrived at different times but were designated to sit together, raised serious questions about the fairness of their seating practices. The impractical bathroom mirror design, positioned too high for my height (5 feet 2 inches), meant I could only see my eyebrows. Attempts to address these issues were met with dismissive explanations, creating an unsatisfactory dining experience that fell far short of the expected standards for a Michelin-starred establishment. From culinary oversights and seating discrepancies to impractical amenities, this restaurant left much to be desired on multiple fronts.

Experience is below expectations. Service was friendly but very inexperienced, too slow and not very personal. Many service mistakes. Wine list extremely expensive and 95% famous producers too highly priced. No sommelier to guide. Food was good but a few plates below standard.

We were in a family trip for New Year holidays and staying in Downtown in Royal Collection Radisson hotel and asked thier concierge about restaurants for dinner 30th evening, they recommended a few restaurants and we choosed Formel B. Service was very good, atmosphere nice, food was very good, only kids weren’t so happy. It would be better if such high class restaurants will have something simple plates for kids. Me and my wife loved it but unfortunately because of kids hunger we couldn’t enjoy till the end.

We never knew Danish cuisine could be so delicious, interesting and balanced. formel B is a 5 course, slow paced, exquisite dining experience. The choices are extremely varied and unique, so you will end up trusting the chef. And you will never be disappointed! The combinations of ingredients and preparation techniques make it impossible for us culinary mortals to adequately imagine the tastes and textures of each dish ordered, but the results are nothing short of amazing. The restaurant is small but we’ll designed and the staff is so happy and friendly that the evening is a relaxed delight.

It hasn't got that classic Michelin-feel about it. It's more Danish: cozy and relaxed in a dark interior. The food is very well presented but I wasn't blown away by taste and a couple of the wine pairings was - in my opinion - a bit off.

Copenhagen has, per sqkm an abundance of Michelin star restaurants yet getting into the one of (i thi k 18) can be difficult even with careful planning. I can see why. We had a fantastic night here, some really interesting wine pairings and the food was different to what we would normally have expected at the equivalents back home in the UK. This ticked all boxes and it is worthy of another visit in the future

The servise was terrible, we wait for every dish more than 15 minutes between the different courses and I drunk my champagne with no dish. Except that the kitchen smelled so bad aroun the nearest tables that I could feel that smell all over my clothes after that. On my opinion kitchen has some creativity but nothing else, it is not a mishelin star restaurant

Formel B gives you the flexibility to choose your 5-course menu from a list of 12. As a couple you can also choose different ones and have the opportunity to taste more which is not usual for a Michelin star restaurant. We had the brown crab, crushed leaks with trout roe and caviar, artichoke with winter truffle, venison from Nordvildt with cabbage. All tasted great. We made the final with Danish apples and quince and sea buckthorn en surprise. The service was very attentive. Worth a visit.

Wow, was that a great experience! Food, staff, setting were all perfect. In an unusual twist on the tasting menu, Formel allows you to choose any conation of 5 dishes from a list of 12. It was easy to skip red meat and sweets if you chose. There were, however, plenty of options there. Nothing is labeled starter, entree, etc, rather all are treated equally. I had 2 vegetable dishes and 3 seafood choices and all were beautiful and delicious. The staff were young, enthusiastic and knowledgable. Fabulous experience. F

Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
