About
Our restaurant is based on a concept where the premises decor and the menu will always be inspired by the current exhibition in Gallery Krebsen (located in the rear building across the courtyard). On the walls of the first room you enter, you will therefore typically find images of a current exhibition at the gallery and thus could experience a new atmosphere at least eight times a year. We hope you will enjoy our atmosphere and food.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic evening. The food was delicious and imaginative, beautifully presented. My husband and I try and choose the tasting menu whenever it is offered and here we could choose which dishes to try which was novel and meant that every course was something we wanted...to eat. The wine pairing worked very well, even wines I would normally not try were delicious and a surprise to me. The owner and his colleague were attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly and every guest was treated like an old friend rather than a customer. Superb experience and highly recommended!More

Absolutely incredible - exquisite food, wonderful atmosphere and such extraordinary attention to detail and passion from everyone who works there… we felt like longstanding regulars within moments of arrival and the tasting menu was utterly delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Little place with lots of good food. Proprietor does all the work and takes all the credit. We needed a taxi to get back to Coco Hotel.

This was, quite simply, one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I was aware of the restaurant’s reputation, and they certainly lived up to it! Nothing that I or my two friends ordered could be faulted; even the focaccia bread served on the side...seemed extra special! And this was accompanied by an excellent wine list; there were many to choose from but I had to try the 2009 Chateauneuf-du-Pape; apparently it was one of only two remaining bottles from Mats’s wedding! Delicious wine, though unfortunately they won’t have that vintage again…and talking of Mats, both he and Carsten could not have been friendlier or more helpful and informative. Fine dining like this is often accompanied by pretentious service, but not here. Everything added up to a great evening. So, I could not recommend more highly; but you will need to book well in advance…!More

Tasty food, comfortable atmosphere, very nice wine pairings and enthusiastic staff. Unfortunately, I was very hungry so was unable to fully enjoy the tasting menu, but it was something different to experience.

My God, what a great meal! The owners are clearly food and wine enthusiasts, they gave recommendations and we had a tasting menu which I would recommend highly. One of the best meals I've ever had - and we didn't have to break the bank...for this either. Caution: it is VERY popular, we were lucky we got a table - after we booked nearly 3 weeks in advance...More

What a fabulous find! We were a party of two amongst a work group of circa 25 people yet we had amazing service and top notch food. The bread was delicious. Scallops gorgeous. Beef tender. Crème caramel sublime. Staff were gorgeous. I could not recommend...this place enough. Five stars all round.More

I booked this restaurant for dinner with a colleague based on the reviews. The experience exceeded the expectation. And it is an experience you get not just a meal. Neither of us go for tasting menus so the ability to have a la carte was...appreciated. Each dish was a piece of brilliance in construction, taste and presentation - and food that satisfied not a piece of art. The home baked bread began the show , a hint of the pleasure to come. The serving of a course was accompanied by an explanation of how the dish was made and although the server must have done it a hundred times, it felt individual - a rare skill. The cauliflower soup was the best I have ever tasted, such a clever combination of flavours. The reindeer melted in your mouth with an intense jus with a sharp contrast of berries. The root vegetables perfect accompaniment. The crème caramel good but perhaps the backstory of competing mothers recipes a little ott. The maitre offered to suggest glasses of wines for each course when I was undecided about which bottle. The Albariño for the cauliflower soup superb, the red for the reindeer not to my taste but was switched without charge. The whole meal felt a warm and joyful occasion and this place immediately goes top of my rankings for the next time I visit Copenhagen.More

Wonderful unique dinner in Copenhagen! We got the tasting menu, had delicious meal with cauliflower soup, cod, duck and reindeer. All was delicious and satisfied family (age 16-60!). The staff were friendly and accommodated my daughter who has a gluten allergy. This was a memorable...and enjoyable experience for all.More

We were really looking forward to our dinner here and the food was fantastic. But the staff were incredible rude and obnoxious. After we were served our mains the chef/waiter pointed to our plates for table next to us to look at and said “big...portions for big adults”. The table next to us looked uncomfortable and we were furious. They then brought the card reader which was in Danish and hovered over us when the selection for a tip came up and then offered no explanation for the options beyond that point. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant before in my life and would not recommend. They need to hire waiters who have some social skills urgently!More

We had an absolutely fantastic meal at Restaurant Krebsegaarden. Mats and Carsten gave us an unforgettable dining experience - my partner being vegetarian was no problem and they came up with a custom menu just for him. We both had a tasting menu with wine...pairings. The food and wine were explained to us in detail, allowing us to really enjoy the whole experience. All the wines complemented the food perfectly (both the regular and veggie courses). The pacing of the evening was relaxed, giving us time to really savour the food and atmosphere. The small dining room meant that it felt intimate and special, we loved chatting to Mats and Carsten! I'd highly recommend Restaurant Krebsegaarden if you visit Copenhagen, we can't wait to return!More

Excellent food and wine, lean back and let the hosts decide menu and wine pairings. You are in for a treat! Excellent service in a small, intimate restaurant. I have lived in Copenhagen and been back to visit several times, this is a gem.

What a fantastic dinner with a seasonal menu that changes every 6 weeks or so. Our entire meal was also paired with wine and thier selection was fantastic. This ended up being one of our favorite meals of our entire Copenhagen trip. The service was...also wonderful, very welcoming and warm. We went on a Thrusday night and the place was packed which is also a good sign. Thank you for a wonder dinner.More

I would at least say 2,5 -3 hours. Depends on how quick you eat, and how busy we are.. But its not meant to be fast.. And we only do one seat in our little restaurant. So no stress
