In short: great flavours, but poor service and pricing. The food here was very authentic, but absolutely let down by the service. We were repeatedly ignored as the waitress cleared empty tables and stood around instead of clearing our table (the empty plates has been...sitting there a long time). We also waited a long time between courses. What really let them down though was the minuscule wine pour, which was poured free-hand and was extremely small, even compared to cph sizing. Likewise, they charged us 55 for tap water and we had two bottles, so 110 dkk for tap water! No one mentioned this and it wasn't written clearly on the menu. V unfortunate as its in my neighbourhood and I liked the flavour, but I won't be recommending it to anyone.More

Authentic Thai kitchen

We were strolling through Nørrebro looking for a dinner place when seeing this on Tripadvisor. After a few days of experimental Nordic kitchen (as great as it had been), the idea of Thai food was very appealing. And everything really tasted authentic as in Thailand!...Loved every dish. Nicely spicy but just enough to survive without harm.More

Good food, but..

We live close to ranees and have talked about trying it for a long time. We booked a table and arrived at the restaurant. We said hello to (I think it was the owner) and said we have booked a table for two. She did...not say anything, didn’t even smile, but pointed us to a table next to the enterance and left. We sat at the table an wished that we could have gotten one of the other tables, as the one we were pointed to was only half set and right next to the enterance. We did not ask though. We got menus and the waiter was very busy, so it took 30 minutes before we ordered. She was very nice though so no problems with the waiting. We ordered starters and mains. The food tastes great. I think the main courses are too pricy though for what it is and compared to other restaurants. The beer was cheap though and water for free as I think it should be everywhere when you order drinks. So the bill was not too big all inclusive. The four stars are because the food was nice and the drinks cheap. I would have given 3.5 though if I could, because I don’t think the food was better than aroii but more expensive, and we were not greeted very nicely. Remember it is free to be nice!More

Spicy trip

Very plain furnishing and decoration. It smells almost unappitazing inside. We almost turned in the door. You certainly go here for the food, which is quite good as long as you enjoy spicy food.

Authentic spicy Thai

Ranee’s is a cozy small restaurant in town , Where provides North Eastern Thai food . I like Larb and Spicy salad . As for Larb and Namtok dishes I don’t like the toasted Rice that garnish in the whole seed it should be made...into powder . The service is good .More

Ignored us until we left without ordering

We were seated and given the menu, then weirdly ignored for about half an hour. Didn’t even take a drinks order. Walked out hungry and disappointed. They didn’t seem to care.

Amazing

Love everything about Ranee’s! The food, the atmosphere, the wine, staff and Ranee of course. The food is super fresh & nice and spicy. You have to try the fishcakes. Ranee’s moms recipe ❤️

Cosy Thai

Great place situated away from a noisy crowd. I may be not an expert of the Thai food, but everything we tried here was tasty. A very friendly lady was serving the food. I liked their design as well - unusual and very cosy. We...were there in winter and it was definitely a nice authentic Thai experience as for our taste. This is a known place among locals as well, as I learnt later.More

A good place to eat Thai

Nice small and cosy place. Having read other reviews made me wonder whether this would be okay in terms of hospitality. I understand there is a cultural difference on how to approach people but they are friendly and the food is good. Be aware that...ordering the spicy starters "thai way" means that it is very spicy. They even ask you again whether you are sure about it. Nice drinks as well so worth paying a visit.More

Informal Restaurant Serving Simple Authentic Thai Food

The restaurant is very popular and appears to have a loyal regular clientelle. The food was all fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced, particularly the set menu. The service is friendly but a little paitence is needed when busy. The furniture is fairly basic and the...layout somewhat cramped but not without charm. Some outdoor seating looking out to a pleasant square. Best accessed by public transport, bicycle or on foot, as parking is almost non existant. I would like to go back to try some of the many other dishes. A short but ok wine list featuring organic wines. Family friendly. Not really a place for larger groups.More

Flavors bursting out of the dishes

Ranee's makes you realize why Thai cuisine is considered one of the top global cuisines. She makes amazing food, very flavorful, using ingredients that are clearly very well chosen and fresh. The service is very attentive and friendly. The location is also great - the...kids can go outside and play in the playground that is 10 meters from the restaurant doorsteps when they are done. Highly recommended.More
