Restaurant Gronnegade has everything you want from an excellent restaurant: charming location in the old centre of Copenhagen - authentic cozy dining rooms with good acoustics - knowledgeable, welcoming and competent staff - and a kitchen crew who knows the ins and outs of magnificent cooking: solid and perfected cooking skills, creativity in combining ingredients, artistic eye for decorating the dishes - all in all a wonderful experience! I was totally taken in by the octopus and cauliflower dish: everything was white reminding me of Copenhagen in snow and ice! And at the other end of the colour spectrum: an explosion of purple, red and dark colours and textures combined in the Flatiron steak dish - a work of art! I can't wait to be back!

I have lived in Denmark for 5 years and had never gone to this restaurant...what a shame, because this is a true gem in Copenhagen. From the moment of arriving, the hosts made us feel welcome, and then there is the truly great ambiance of a very old building that has been lovingly restored. And the food is amazing with the waiters introducing each course. I had 4 courses of the set course, but it was very filling so dependent on your appetite, 3 may be enough, but then you would miss the dessert which was awesome. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Our party of six ordered the “early bird” deal, which is a great deal food wise, and the service is excellent. However, beware, when the friendly waiter offers you a glass of welcome champagne. It is tiny, and you pay 150kr per glas, which is more than at a strip bar, for less 🙄. Also, the wine prices are outrageous: for my favorite zin, the old Brazin, they ask 600 (or was it 700?) kr, which is several fold the market price. We went for a Pinot noir from New Zealand. A “cheap” bottle at 495 kr. It was thin like lemonade. But the food was great. In particular the mail dish, the flat iron plank steak was extremely tender and delicious. And served in an aesthetically pleasing way. For that alone, I would give 6 stars ⭐️.

Really delicious food, and mediocre service. However, I learned that I should not accept their "appetizer". It was the very first thing we were offered, before being presented with any wine/dining menu. "Would you like an appetizer?" - it almost sounded like it was on the house. Turned out it wasn't. It was actually charged, but at the extreme cost at kr. 150 per glass. She could as-well just have taken on a strap-on and asked us to bend over. When I confronted the manager about this, upon seeing the check, she told me that "I could've have looked at the prices in the wine menu". A wine menu we were not presented with when she offered us the appetizer. Also, I was quite baffled that the manager came to our table while we were eating and corrected us, saying that we "were using the wrong knife". Hell, I would use a épée to eat my Glazed veal brisket have they only given me one..

Oh boy where do i start. So we went here for a private romantic dinner with my wife for Valentines day. First impression upon arrival is the restaurant was tiny, the tables were so cluttered together so they can sit more people. Tables were so close that i felt strange and no privacy at all considering the other couples sat so close to us we could almost bump elbows...so the privacy was def not there. We had the 4 course meal which cost just a bit shy of 400€ for both of us. The food tasted good, no doubt about that. But the portions were so tiny i mean i couldnt believe it. When we finished the dinner i was extremely disappointed and its a shame because we decided to get a decent meal afterwards and ate at Burger King. The iron beef was good, soup and desert were good but absolutely not justified by the price we paid. I feel like i got robbed and will definitely not be going again. Its a shame to go to a restaurant, spend an insane amount of money only to leave hungry. I mean isnt the point of going out to eat to actually be full. Even my wife who eats very little was disappointed at the portion sizes they were very very very small, i think my 4 year old son would still be hungry afterwards.
Its a shame i had to leave this review this way, the staff was nice but i just feel like we came out for good food and valentines day meal and we got something else. Bumping elbows with other people sitting right beside me while i eat my 10grams of beef steak which cost me 400 euros is completely unacceptable!

Restaurant Grønnegade is conveniently located when you want to leave your car and enjoy a good dinner.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is absolutely relaxed with nice decoration that gives rise to the desired clientele is relatively adult.
Wine and drink cards as well as the menu are absolutely complete - you can choose a wine menu where you also have choice according to taste, which the restaurant manager gets great praise from, as our family has very different preferences in relation to wine.
If you want non-alcoholic, the place has additional interesting mocktails if you are in the mood for something new - can not answer for their choice of non-alcoholic wine or beer as I did not taste this.
We got a complete menu with 2 appetizers (optional) a main dish as well as dessert. All dishes were balanced, offered taste experiences in each category and were beautifully arranged.
Along the way, you quickly get a feeling of the waiters knowing what they are doing, they have track of the wine they serve and the pace in which the food was served was appropriate in relation to the course of the evening.
All in all, the restaurant is incredibly cozy with food in the slightly heavier price range - but they definitely provide the framework for a cozy evening.
Top ratings from here - definitely not the last time we come back!

Very nice evening in friendly atmosphere - you feel like a dinner at friend's house.
They propose five course menu with the option to choose 4 out of 5. We took 4 and it was more than enough. All dishes were tasty and served in a very nice way. Wine paring matched quite well.
Would be happy to come there again.

Great food, beautifully arranged on plates. We had a sweetdeal of 6 dishes, which that evening was changed to 5 dishes, and a small fork the size of a finger bowl, but tasty. I only drink white wine, so we ordered a bottle of the next cheapest for 700 kr, ok wine. Meen.... we sat upstairs, like the herring in the barrel, where there was incredibly poor audio, and English-speaking waiters who were friendly, but you could hardly hear what they were telling about the food. There were four happy Hungarians sitting behind me, who ⁇ did not notice that there were other guests present. We ⁇ the food in silence, because ordinary conversation was not possible, we almost had to yell at each other. We don't want to sit in that restaurant again, but would love to buy the food, as a "takeaway" at real Award, and enjoy it at home.

Expensive but okay.
We got a 3 retters menu. Delicious Cammuslinger, okay pig which was a little boring on the plate, but a super good dessert. Our servant he was not especially welcoming, seemed irritated that we “only” had to have 3 dishes and a bottle of wine for sharing.
The food was delicious but you pay 45 kr per person for water and 70 kr for bread per person. The wine card was good but also mega expensive. So! - you can eat and drink just as well elsewhere in the city with a service that is probably also more welcoming. It could also just be that was Monday's mood.
But we were celebrating our birthday and it was a lovely evening.

Unfortunately we were not satisfied with our dinner. It was just good mediocrity.
The choice of dishes is also simply too sparse. Only one main course, meat with fois grass and truffle, was offered. Bad luck for those who don't like it.
Alternatively, there is only the tasting menu, where there was guinea fowl as the main course.
For dessert we had a chocolate dessert made with inexpensive Callebaut chocolate. Therefore, instead of the 5-course menu, we opted for the 4-course menu without dessert. At almost €100 for the menu, you can expect better chocolate quality to be used.
Unfortunately, the menu could not convince. The bisque to the first appetizer Haddock was too salty, the Haddock was with a ballotine that was flavorless.
The guinea fowl sauce was too sweet.
The espresso costs a proud 10€, which we found too expensive.
Only the service was impeccable.

Delicious dishes in the top class. Beautiful color combinations, crafty compositions, Fine Dining Fan, great sizes, all served by friendly staff in an atmospheric under-played restaurant. This is my second visit and I am very excited. This time car it even a proof of value at a lower Award than the normal prices, but the quality and quantity of food was the same. My best Recommendation for Restaurant Grønnegade.

A wonderful and intimate place with good service and many exciting taste experiences.
Think this place needs to be booked somewhat in advance. We were lucky and got a place for 2 people on the same day (a Friday evening) using the booking service EarlyBird.dk.
We ordered and prepaid a 5-course menu for 2, with 7 servings. Save a good deal compared to the regular price by using this booking service. One of us chose the wine package for the meal. This is selected upon arrival. The evening became a memory for life, at least something we will soon forget in a very positive sense.
The menu for the evening was presented upon arrival, but was also presented again upon serving. The waiters happily shared details about the dishes afterwards in response to any questions we might have.
We would love to visit this place again!
If you want to spend an "all evening" with your better half, or in good company with several others, this place is highly recommended!

We had no booking but popped in to see if there was availability in this small cosy restaurant...and we were very lucky to get a lovely table. We chose the tasting menu with a wine pairing which did not disappoint. Flavours and textures were terrific with lovely presentation. Service was really good, friendly and efficient. Would be sure to try and make a return visit to this restaurant when next in Copenhagen.

The table was over 30 minutes late. The drink we bought at the bar while we waited, we managed to drink before we got our table. The 300 kroner for two drinks could perhaps have been offered as a plaster on the wound. However, they came and poured water into our glasses without asking. In return, we were deducted DKK 90 for that when the bill came. In other words, water we never asked for at a dinner that ended up over DKK 1,500.
The waiter was super nice, we think she smiled at least. However, she spoke such broken English that we had no idea what the five or six dishes we got were.
When the bill finally came, in addition to the water we never asked for and the two drinks we didn't have the opportunity to drink at the table due to their delay, there was almost a 2.95% electricity and gas surcharge. A bit of a strange experience but fair enough. In addition, there was, one thinks it is a lie, a rounding up. Yes, a rounding to an even amount. It's small money, so it's not the amount, but the principle that you spent approximately DKK 1,500 with them on a weekday evening, and then they think they can afford to get the last bit out of you. We were speechless. In addition, as always, there was the offer to tip. We ALWAYS tip, unless the experience has been really bad. Unfortunately we have to admit, no tips that day and definitely no recommendation. I have tried to find an email for you, to initially handle it internally, but could not find anyone.

Amazing food in a really cosy restaurant with excellent service. We went for the tasting menu. 4 courses for me and 5 for my girlfriend. Each course was carefully introduced so we knew the detail and care that had gone into it. Highly recommended.
