They have 3 (and soon to be 4) vegan smørrebrød options that are fantastic! They even give you vegan butter for the bread. Great service as well!

This is my new go to bar. They serve well made classical danish lunch at very affordable prices. The staff are always very friendly and the have a wide variety of different beers. Furthermore they show a lot of football and they have pool table. You can also enjoy your beer or lunch outside in the sun.

Today my wife, our 5 month old son and I was rejected from Frederik VI because our son was in a baby tram. The restaurant was otherwise empty and we wanted to buy lunch. We like to eat lunch and dine out, and so we have continued after being parents back i July. In every restaurant we have been to... More

This place is one of the more traditional Danish pubs or bars you find around town, where you can also get a lunch with the traditional orders of herring, 'stjaerneskud', 'pariserbøf' etc. And leave the car so you may have a good beer and an aquavit to have the 'herring swim'. This place is in a living area at Frederiksberg,... More

Staff lovely, convenient location - London prices, which is to say that it's markedly less expensive than anything but Kebab joints! I've been living in Copenhagen for four months, have introduced this place to so many people who also love it - not just the VFM, but the clientele - local and friendly - and the staff, who are simply... This café was fine for a quick bite to eat. For a $10 lunch, for example, you got 2 tiny meatballs, a very small container of potato salad and 2 slices of bread or a small container of herrings with bread.

...and I don't mean that you've better duck, but that earlier this evening I had the best roasted duck ever. There's a Danish tradition of eating duck on Nov 10th, which is also celebrated at Frederik VI. The starter was an excellent serving of Salmon Royale, simply melting on my tongue. They had Skands Xmas on tap, and the main... More

Have you ever tried the Danish dish of fried/baked pork? Every Wednesday this is on the menu at Frederik VI, which is more like a bar than a restaurant. Or maybe a great combination of both. They have a nice variation of beers and make a variety of their own aquavit/snaps. The place is situated at a funny intersection and... More

Staying in Frederiksberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
