We have been to Denstone FS Cafe many times in the past This is the first time after Lockdown, 2 years infact, we have returned and we found the whole setup very different, many improvements, some good others not so good. The food regrettably not...so good - The presentation was very poor - The Salad looked like yesterdays and the "Triple" Fried Chips were dry and very unappetizing at £3.00 for a little pot, frozen I think. We can't keep blaming Covid19 for everything . The Menu was more or less the same as before, but the standard was disappointing with poor ingredient and lack lustre presentation. The Desserts must certainly be from a different supplier The previous Lemon Meringue Pie was to die for, but not the one on offer today The prices were not especially out of the ordinary We would rather pay a little more to receive better quality food as they served before and a new menu with some fish dishes. Perhaps they are focusing to much on Turnover and Profit We would not rush back --- Sorry Rupert and TeamMore

The best farm shop and Breakfast around. Walked here from the lovely village of Rocester. Had an amazing local produced breakfast. The farm shop is brilliant, with loads of great food and gifts. Well done

Having been to this place so many times for breakfast, lunch and the odd cake or two, I've got to say how fabulous this place is. The standard of food is A1, Staff are lovely (apart from the miserable old wench on the meat counter...who seems to be doing you a favour when serving you) _ had to mention that. Otherwise the place is A1 and enjoy visiting. Cooked breakfast is Deeeelicious and the cakes are a real work of art... Get rid of the miserable mare on the meat counter and you have a perfect venue.More

Stopped here for breakfast one morning, was good quality food and very fresh. The service was great and very helpful as the app we were meant to order on didn't really work great. The smashed avocado on toast was very good and would recommend.

Staff ignorant. Place stunk of farm manure. Disorganised. So called gluten free not gluten free obviously cooked in the same fat as everything else. Swarms of wasps to contend with whilst you tried to eat. Far to expensive for the service, meals , standards and...produce. I am my family will not be going back again.More

Visited with my sister at the weekend and asked if we could share an afternoon tea. We were told no, as you cannot order just one. On the online info. it only stipulates that this is the case for the traditional tea, not for the...Countryman's tea, so we were not best pleased. The manager was, if not exactly rude, rather off-hand and seemed not to care whether we ordered anything or not, so we left.We spoke with a very pleasant young man, who I think was the manager of the farm shop, and he very kindly offered us a cake and a scone by way of apology. We have been here before on several occasions and always enjoyed it, but this was not a pleasant experience. If the "minimum 2" rule applies to all the teas then it should be made clear, and I feel the customer service could have been better. These are the reasons for my "poor"rating.More

Hi, I'm so sorry about the mix up with your afternoon tea request. I have spoke to our manager and I think he was under the impression you were asking for the regular afternoon tea which is only available for a min of 2 people....More

What a wonderful restaurant situated in the heart of Alton, Hampshire. The owners as well as staff are all so friendly & casual but still have a high level of professionalism and high standards. The food is amazingly tasty, well presented with large portions &...cooked with passion. The restaurant is clean, well presented & very homely. Exellent outstanding food, 5 star rating & on the same level of Nando's. 100% recommendation for good, reasonably priced and tasty food. Well done Frango's for outstanding tasty food. 5 star service.More

Good- weather and able to sit outside as was very busy Bad- The food, very small portions, farmhouse platter consisted of half small porkpie, half scotch egg with NO egg. Ham roll with rubber grated cheese , dry small sausage roll & two lettuce leaves....I know they ere busy but this place as really gone down hill!! We use to love a visit here but they have got greedy and over stretched themselves. Ugly- The price & clear away your own platesMore

The food was lovely, fresh and tasted great. Obvious it was made from scratch and good quality. Sadly the one thing that let it all down was trying to order on an app. Nothing can beat the human experience, service with a smile! I found...it impossible to order anything as I had questions about a couple of the items on the menu. Thankfully someone came over to take our order. I might have given up and left if not!More

Food above average, sandwiches we’ll filled. The Bakewell tart and cheesecake very good. Possibly more cream or a custard option would have been good with the Bakewell. App for ordering a novel idea, just like Wetherspoons, but not the best idea if you have questions...about the food. The free hot water with drinks came in a very tiny milk portion container? Was this a joke? Certainly made us laugh. Never seen hot water presented like this before? The worst part of the visit was the scrapping of chairs on the wooden floor. The staff were some of the worst offenders when resetting tables. If you can’t put rubber stoppers on the legs at least get the staff to lift not drag the furniture. This continual noisy intrusion spoilt the visit. Not sure we’d return because of the noise issue alone. It’s a bit embarrassing as we’d visited on recommendation from friends.More

If you sit at the tables outside dogs are welcome. I don't think you can take your dog inside the cafe and shop.
