We first went to the restaurant for lunch at our arrival at Camp Ripan! There is only one option, but it was delicious, nicely presented and amazing value!!! We came back for dinner and had a lovely three course meal featuring local delicacies. Again, nicely presented, great flavors, perfect! If I have a couple negative things to say - they... More

Absolutely delicious! We ate here twice on our honeymoon as it was so yummy. We tried the five course menu and enjoyed every course. The reindeer was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed it in a romantic setting with a candle and lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We are staying in Camp Ripan and decided to have a drink at the bar and then go to the restaurant. Absolutely delicious meal - we had a range of dishes including the arctic char and the King of the Forest (reindeer). For pudding we had the coffee truffles and the chocolate orange truffles, all of which were perfect as... More

We had dinner from the a la carte menu, choosing the mushroom soup and trout for starters and the reindeer fillet for main. Both starters and main were exceptionally good! The service was really warm and friendly (thank you to Linus for exceptional service and for making us laugh - you made our evening very special!). The cost of the... More

We visited for an anniversary meal. Set meal. Very good value. Yes expensive, but this is Sweden!! Soup was from mushrooms grown exclusively in the mines in Kiruna. Main was 2 steaks on one plate. I even took some back to my daughters house in Kurravaara. Very filling. Pudding was the least attractive but overall a lovely evening out.

We visited this place for an evening meal. We were expected a real Sami style menu treat as is laid out on the website. The website is very good and provides with lots of characterful words to describe the experience. In actual fact it felt a bit like being in a cafeteria at a ski resort and some of the... More

We stayed at Camp Ripan during our weekend break in Kiruna and enjoyed their set lunch menu for 100 Kroner (which we though was very reasonable as it included a very tasty Brisket of Beef in a yummy hollandaise sauce, bread, coffee and some cookies). We then also joined them for dinner which was also delicious but much more expensive... More

We are here whilst staying in the hotel. The menu uses the local fare and you can either go traditional or choose a dish with a bit of a twist. The service was exceptional, the food really very good and prices in line with the area. I would certainly make the trip here to eat if I wasn't staying at... More

We stayed at Camp Ripan for one night and had dinner at their kitchen. The food was unbelievably good especially the trout entree and the reindeer main. I could have kept eating it all night. To top it off our waitress came over during mains to let us know the northern lights were showing outside over the kitchen. Top service... More

I tried the pizza and found that the center became soggy, so I'd suggest something different, though it tasted fine. We tried the mixed platter for an appetizer and it had some very nice variety including Moose and Reindeer. Local brew is available and worth trying you like beers. On the upper mid range for price I'd say, though not... More

Welcome to Restaurant Camp Ripan... ...and welcome to the exciting city of Kiruna, where the Swedish, Sami and Torne Valley Finnish cultures meet. Most of our produce comes from our three cultural regions, something we would like to tell you more about. Every dish has its own history. We know where the reindeer wandered and the fish were caught. Our kitchen follows the seasons - all eight of them. Completely according to the ageold Sami traditions. Our dishes are prepared with care, following traditional recipes and spiced with new twists and influences from around the world Restaurang Ripan strives to always choose the most eco-friendly and ethical alternative.
