Dining at this family owned and run restaurant was enjoyable from start to finish - and the owners’ daughters were extremely attentive throughout our lunch. Best bets for us included the beet salad with warm goat cheese, honey and walnuts; Swedish meatballs; butter fried salmon...More

Found this restaurant through TripAdvisor. It's a small restaurant with a big welcome and great food. We had the Swedish Meatballs and the Herring; both were quite simply superb. Would definitely recommend for lunch over any of the more obvious eating places in the retail...More

I follow the reviews from TripAdvisor and I didn’t get disappointed with this place. Food was served very efficiently and service was great. I had the meatballs and mesh potatoes everything very fresh and delicious. Prices were excellent for the portions. Highly recommended!!

Gastabud is a small restaurant, so it can get very crowded during peak times; it can be hard to get a seat. However, the service was nice and the food was amazing. We had the Swedish meatballs, moose, and reindeer. The meatballs definitely lived up...More

A good place to try Swedish meatballs. Staffs were really friendly. It got quite crowded during lunch time as there are limited number of tables, but it’s possible to sit outside without the need to wait if the tables are not occupied.

Small and intimate serving the best of the best Swedish dishes. We went classic with apps of herring 3 ways and Janssens Temptation. Both were great and balanced for sharing. The Janssens was perfection. Very difficlt to balance the potatoe with salt and strong flavor...More

The meatballs and pork cheeks did not fail to deliver. Generous portions that filled us well. Went for dinner, had to wait in line as the place was small. Waiting time could be approximately 45mins. But i’d say it’s worth the wait!

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)

There are certainly gluten-free foods on the menu such as gravlax, but there may be bread in the meatballs. My wife had fish soup, which she loved, and so on. I think you could make do.
