Walking through Gamla Stan we were attracted to this Cafe and we were not disappointed lovely traditional Swedish fare. We had an open prawn sandwich, cinnamon bun and pancakes washed down with amazing hot chocolate.

Really bad place: smelly, poor coffee (they write real espresso... it was terrible) and 30 kr for it! I think better if you avoid it!

Great location!! Very good food and great staff. Stopped here for lunch and sat outside to do some people watching. The location is pretty much in the middle of everything touristy (is that a word?). I had the small ribeye and not the bigger plates they are showing as specials. It was the perfect size and very well prepared. From... More

Stopped off for a late lunch after reading positive reviews on Tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. Really nice sandwich and the Cinnamon roll and Swedish chocolate cake were amazing. Great fresh coffee as well.

The cafe is located in a rather touristic area but do not be afraid to give it a go! Very good value for money and the food is fresh and tasty!

We find this place on TA and so glad we went looking for it as the meatballs were excellent and gave us a chance to warm up before the walking tour. Need to go back to sample the pastries!

Love this place. The food, the people and the ambient. I had the best cinnamon bun ever there and the staff was so happy to see I enjoyed it and gave me another one as a gift :) Such a wonderful surprise!

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
