Classic Finnish fare, pricey. Don't go for the cheapest item on the menu, try something that you have not had before if you are a Helsinki visitor. I liked the atmosphere, but it is not "nice" in a trivial sense of this word. The service is good but not overly "smiley". My waiter was not terribly helpful. She just told... More

Seahorse eli Sikala on klassikko joka ei muutu koskaan. Meininki on aina samanlaista ja hyvällä tavalla. The Seahorse is a timeless classic. This place never changes and you can be shore to get all the Finnish classic delicacies here.

This restaurant is family run and the food is wholesome and hearty. It offers traditional finish fare as well as other choices. We enjoyed our meal.

Step in 50years back in time. This restaurant is over 80 years old and still lots of people every night. I ate the best liver ever. Try also fryed fish "silakat" . Cousy, traditional, easy. You can have easily some extra drinks too. Relax atmosphere.

The atmosphere is always pleasant but different from elswhere. You enetr the restaurant and the portier asks you if you are going to have dinner. Than you are seated and showed to a table usually by a waiter who is not very friendly. After a while comes a waiter who in turn is friendly and you start. I have had... More

Sea Horse is a classic. They also have their classic dish on the menu, but at lunch hour there's a changing offer. No pea soup today, that's for Thursdays. Today, working at a customer nearby, I decided to revisit this old familiar place for lunch. There was plenty of room, compared to the other newer places nearby. Good for me!... More

Went here last summer and planning to go back as soon as I am back in Helsinki again. This is the place I would take a visitor to taste the real quality Finnish food. As soon as I spotted the liver on menu I had to tasted and it got my approval, it was really good and there were plenty.... More

This restaurant has tasty traditional Finnish food and the portions are not too small. It would be a nice place to go again if they didn't have an obligatory cloak room fee (2 euro) that you have to pay to enter the restaurant. It is a "service" that nobody needs and you feel kind of cheated by it.

A little like stepping back in time to the 1950s or 60s, Sea Horse has quite a formal feel to it, but is, in fact, very relaxed, friendly and one of the less expensive meals we ate. The food is all traditional Finnish food, and is excellent. Portions are generous, service is efficient, and a large group of us that... More

The food was average but I thoroughly enjoyed having a good meal with nice Finns. I was especially impressed with how friendly and helpful the staff was.
