Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This lovely place was recommended by the manager of our hotel. Great recommendation! Beautifully setting- an old home dating from 1897-pretty tables and settings with attractive and subdued art on the walls made by an Icelandic artist. Food was great-get the lobster soup-wow. Husband had...the pumpkin soup and salmon-loved both. They don’t take reservations so arrive early and enjoy.More

Really nice and cozy restaurant. Good food, nice interior and friendly hostess. Fresh food and nice portions. The interior is modern and not like the most restaurants in Iceland. The home made bread is the best!

It was a toss up between Otto and Pakkus for our inner plans in Horn. We chose Otto hoping to snare a table as they take no reservations. Luckily we arrived an only had a 5 minute wait. The place has less than a dozen...tables and the menu is limited but the food was very good. We had a very enjoyable meal on a rainy night in Hofn.More

Lobster Soup a must! Dining space is very elegant. Service could be more "warm" to improve experience but meal and space balance to outstanding experience.

Absolutely exquisite meal in a cozy, candle-lit dining room. Smoked cod was wonderful, as was arctic char.

The menu may seem limited, but it is more than made up for in the quality of the food served here.. The ambience of this place is very nice. And the service is very good and attentive. The lamb dish that I had here was...very good. I strongly recommend coming here if you are looking for quality food in a relaxed atmosphere.More

Excellent restaurant! The food was by far the best we've ever had in Iceland. The service and setting were also terrific. Highly recommend the lobster soup and the sourdough bread and butter. Yum!

Delicious food! Good services! Nice environment! Lobster soup and lamb is wonderful. The only thing that is the waitress forgot to bring the reordered sour dough for us! The sour dough is super soft.

A beautifuly restored residental home dating from the late 1800's. The interior is light and airy, homey and welcoming. There's a limited amount of seating and they don't take reservations so get there early! The food was superb - delicious and well presented. A good...selection of entrees and the prices were consistent with most fine dining places in Iceland. Very enjoyable meal and experience!More

We visited Iceland and were in Hohn for our 24th Anniversary, looking up restaurants, Otto’s was highly rated. Although we had a 3 year old in our group we took the chance and were not disappointed!! The service, food, and ambiance could not have been...better! Loved the lobster soup (a MUST have!), and we ordered Atlantic Shrimp, Salmon and beef tenderloin. Every dish was delicious and a work of art! I would highly recommend them anytime you’re in this area. What a wonderful experience we had, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.More

What a surprise to find such a quality meal out in the country side. No to judge, we just didn’t have such high expectations. Especially walking in off he street not knowing anything about them. From start o finish the stuff was delightful. But the...food just blew us away. I would definitely recommend checking out this gem.More

Perfection from start to finish! Beautiful ambiance, very refined food. The lobster soup was the most flavourful we’ve ever had! Lovely to leave tour bus crowds behind in the hotel restaurants and instead head to this gem!

Hi Terri. Otto does not take reservations but if full, there is a beautiful bar in the cellar where you can wait for the next available table.
