Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great lamb and tomato soup! They mix well together too. Highly recommend trying this while in the capital. You won’t regret it.

It’s quite basic but a nice experience as it was our first meal in Reykjavik. Helpful staff and a nice experience! It was sunny so we enjoyed sitting outside! I had two bowls of soup and my husband had three!

Great food and great service. And for a bargain considering food prices in Reykjavik. We had the lamb soup, spicy tomato soup, fisherman's favourite and pancakes.

Read the reviews and all the hype surrounding this restaurant and thought we’d give it a go.My partner had the lamb soup bowl which he said was nicely seasoned and very tasty but my fish soup was awful as it was lukewarm with limited seafood...and very watery. We didn’t bother with the free waffles as where I was sitting I could see people handling and then putting them back which totally put me off from a hygiene perspective. There are far better places to eat in Reykjavik especially in the food halls.More

We visited Icelandic Street Food for their Lamb Soup and was not disappointed. We chose to have ours in the bread "roll" and was delicious. We were able to have unlimited refills. We managed three refills before our bread "roll' collapsed but should we have...chosen to have more they would have given us a bowl but three was enough, particularly considering we ate some of the bread as well. There were unlimited waffles available for free, but we were too full, and water. Other Soup was available (tomatoe and fish) plus a couple of other options. Really good food choice and great value for money.More

We stopped in here at a recommendation from one of our guides and were not disappointed. The lamb soup is amazing and you get a refill. The broth is so delicious and the lamb is tender. The free waffles were a surprising bonus.

We wanted to try the Icelandic lamb soup and we’re not disappointed. My partner had the bowl of soup with bread and I had the bread loaf filled with soup (of which you can get a refill - I did). The lamb was very tasty,...beautiful meat and a beautiful taste. There were free waffles on the side with a conserve (we think blueberry but it may have been an Icelandic traditional berry). We had one each. If I had a criticism I would say that the beer at £10 put us off having a drink. Just a couple of pounds cheaper and I think a lot more people would drink as well as eat (most were drinking free water). I understand beer isn’t cheap anywhere - maybe a happy hour would help at a certain time? 16.00 to 18.00 perhaps. Anyway, don’t let that detract from the excellent food which only cost us £30 - good value for money. Service was good and ambience with a fast moving clientele was good too.More

Great soups in a bread bowl. Order in the right sequence and get a refill of another choice. I enjoyed the tomato soup, nicely spiced.

We were recommended this by a couple of people, you have a large bread roll that you fill with fish soup, lamb soup or spicy tomato and there are waffles yo follow we both had lamb which was really nice and decided to follow with...spicy tomato did I mention free refills? We found the spicy tomato a little overwhelming and could have had half a bowl tbh. Staff were super friendly and welcoming but not a place I would linger after good.More

Avoid , tasteless watery soup, was supposed to be shellfish, only prawns, tepid. Expensive prison food! Hubby had Lamb, he got morsels of lamb but atleast his was hot but bland again. Street food ? More like back street gutter slops!

Lively and lovely little eatery in centre of Reykjavík. Serves basic lamb stew; fisherman’s stew and tomato soup but you can keep going. Feels like a soup kitchen but welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere. Food good quality and for Iceland reasonably priced
