Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had dinner in Fiskelagid and the food was just amazing! I had cod with sauce, potatoes and vegetables. It was perfect! The place itself is very busy and athmosphere is really cozy. Liked it a lot!

I had gravlax as starters and ling with king prawns as main course. Both dishes were like symphonies of flavors! So tasty and beatiful! And the recommended pinot grigio fully complemented the flavors.

A really nice place with lots of charm - specially the waiters deserves a big thank you for the wonderful service. All in all I would happily recommend this place for anyone wanting to try some Icelandic dishes with a modern twist.

This restaurant is a must for fish and seafood lovers. I had skate to start followed by Ling and my husband had the 3 course fish special menu. Beautifully presented food and absolutely delicious flavors. A clever concept where the dishes are each flavoured and...named after different countries. The staff were friendly and attentive, very fast service. It’s very dark inside which was cosy on a winter’s day, not sure how it is in the Summer.More

For our last night in Reykjavik, we booked a table at the Fish Company. We of course ordered seafood meals. The bread and amuse bouse were nice touches and tasty. Since dining in Iceland can be expensive we opted out of appetizers and a full...bottle of wine and just ordered entrees, a dessert we split, and glasses of wine. My wife got the fish sampler and I got the lobster/shrimp salad. Everything was prepared well and tasty. The staff was very attentive and friendly. All told a nice dinner out, and we would recommend it.More

The food was wonderful and generally the service was good. The place was very busy even out of season and on a weekday which tells you how good it was. It seemed the lit moose head was a big attraction too!

Absolutely astonishingly brilliant lunch here today. I had the Atlantic catfish (no idea such a thing existed) and it was the most delicious thing I’ve eaten in years. Perfect service, great location,

Lovely dinner in basement restaurant with very romantic vibe - low lighting . Lovely fish recipes - well it is their specialty! Very attentive staff too. Not cheap but well worth it

We had a fantastic meal at The Fish Company in Reykjavik. Lobster soup (to die for I am told...I thought there was going to be a murder when not all of it got poured into the bowl!). Gravalax and wasabi ice cream was incredible with...the lovage oil. We then had Sushi for 2 as a sharing platter and tiramisu for dessert. It's not cheap by any means but a great atmosphere, wonderful staff and well worth the money.More

You will have a dinner here that you will remember for a long time. Every single thing was off the scale excellent. Service was non-intrusive but attentive. From the amuse-bouche (beautiful) to the bread/butter/granola which was surprisingly delicious and moreish and on to the lobster...soup wich was deeply satisfying. For main courses it was catch fo the day, a work of art with three different fish cooked dfferent ways plus the lobster and tiger prawn salad - do not expect a simple Ceasar! A shout out to the non-alcoholic cocktails: in particular the Nemo was an incredible flavour combination. The gorgeousness carried on to dessert and a stunning liquorice skyr mousse with lemon meringue. I usually like a creme brulée simple but this one with pineapple sorbet was a knockout. This place, although not cheap, is unmissable. If you are in any doubt how much work and care goes into this food, buy their recipe book. I counted 13 recipes for a single dish! The chef even wrote out the recipe for the liquorice skyr for us. Full marks.More

We have been here 3 times now, and every time was excellent. If you like fish you will love this. The “fish of the day” is recommended (actually 3 different sorts of fish), as is the sushi. We had lamb once and that was also...good (and local of course). You get little extras to start and the portions were so big I could not manage 3 courses the first time (despite having a good appetite). The vegetables are beautifully cooked, and I recommend the cocktails. It may seem expensive to some (e.g. those of us from the UK), but the quality and quantity make it good value.More

Visited here during our week stay on Reykjavik. We went without booking and got in but think we were lucky as place filled quickly. Coats taken at the door so not cluttering the dining area. Plenty of space between tables, lovely atmosphere, quiet background music,...great service throughout. We chose the fish festival which, as well as the what was shown on menu also included bread with caramelised butter and a bowl of granola to dip into - never had this before but delicious. There was also an extra appetiser of a delicate prawn in a wasabi creme fraiche - a flavour sensation and so fresh. Next came the delicious lobster soup that was poured at the table - amazing flavour. Fish of the day was 3 fish - smoked haddock, wolf fish and plaice. It was beautifully served and looked like a little rock pool on the plate. Dessert was a generous tiramisu with coffee icecream. Everything was perfectly cooked, delicious flavours, beautifully presented and well balanced. All delicious and highly recommended. Not cheap but prices reflects the area. But all considering it was fabulous value for money. Highly recommend visit.More

Best place we ate in Iceland - beautiful food! I had a sushi platter and it was amazing. You could tell the fish was fresh and it was so well presented. My partner had the 3 course meal, I had a main meal (shared some...of his!), and it cost ISK10,480 (£60.65) which we thought was an amazing price for what we got! It's really well decorated too, with a lovely atmosphere and polite staffMore
