Seriously the best food we had in all of Reykjavik. We went 3 times and tried everything on the menu. The owner and chef were very sweet. They even send you home with free candy bars. Every dish was so well done. Prices are very...reasonable and portions are quite generous.More

Everything about this place was perfect. I was blessed to have Asteris help me order. Not only was he welcoming but also and treated me like I was a queen or something. I will definitely be back here and I hope to have him as...my server❤️ I enjoyed the delicious fish soup. Asteris recommending I enjoyed the fish soup. It Rye bread is reasonably sweet bread and dark brown. In some places in Iceland, it is cooked by digging a hole into the ground (where there’s geothermal heat). The container is buried there until the bread is ready. You can also bake it in an oven, the hot spring is optional! That is what makes it great, it is so easy to bake. Everyone can do it! Sugar was very hard to come by back in the day. Icelanders were mostly poor farmers. There were some wealthy people and sugar was something only they could afford. It didn’t matter because the bread became sweet on its own when baked. It is a slow-baked bread, and that breaks down the starch in the rye, which makes it sweet. had scallops, shrimp, codfish, cumin, and was delightful. The portions are huge here. The fish and chips was unbelievably great. The fish which was cod was the best I Have ever tasted. Most know I’ve been all over the world and even at Cape Cod. I tried the very famous Ryebread that sweet here.🍞I’m addicted! I’ve never had anything like it. It was like a dessert! I love learning I’ve learned a lot about the culture, the history and the people who live here. Thank God, they all speak perfect English and are welcoming. This is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I hope you get to enjoy it sometime at this restaurant with Asteris.More

Amazing fish and chips. So friendly and kind people. Would highly recommend this restaurant. They offer delicious lobster soup as well. The other soups looks and smelled equally as good.

The food was absolutely delicious and the owner(?) was an absolute complete joy and delight. My friends and I all got different stuff on the menu and it was all good. I got great fish and chips and enjoyed eating it out on the rainbow...road itself, the weather was beautiful, it was awesome. She also gave us each a chocolate bar, hahaha. Really super pleasant experience all around.More

id assume all those overly positive reviews being fake. the food didnt really taste any good (fish and chips average, fries tastes like nothing), the atmosphere wasnt convincing and authentic islandic is something else. considering the price i wouldn’t recommend visiting this placeMore

Excellent fish and chips. Fish was so fresh and delicious the breadcrumbs were slightly spicy which made it very tasty. Staff were lovely and very patient as I struggled to get my card to work before my friend stepped in and paid for us with...hers. We ate looking out onto rainbow street having just arrived in Reykjavik earlier that day.More

The owner of this restaurant is the friendliest, kindest man from Greece and will make your visit worthwhile even before you try the delicious food. I had the chicken noodle soup and it was divine. I highly recommend visiting this spot!

We had asked the bartender at our hotel what he would recommend as the best fish and chips in Reykjavik and he highly recommended 101 Reykjavik Street Food. This turned out to be a really nice find for us, especially since in the past we...had been a little underwhelmed by some of the other more hyped and more expensive area restaurants. 101 was very casual and friendly, but excellent in quality. The fish was fresh and perfectly prepared, the seafood soup was delicious and our staff was very warm and responsive, especially our server, Cora!More

No reservations, but very quick turnover. This is not a fancy restaurant, but great for fish abd chips or hearty soups.

Can’t reserve a table, not really table there, sit on stools and eat /rest food on wooden shelves attached to walls or under window, don’t be put off, that’s the charm of the place.
