Really nice little place, with a great selection of beers. We tried the taster menu, shark and puffin. The puffin was amazing. The cured whale has a little too much of a fishy aftertaste (it’s nicer as a steak). The shark was pretty vile, but...More

Started dreaming of lobster dogs when we decided to return to Reykjavik. Didn't disappoint, lamb soup, fish and chips, all well prepared and delicious too. Excellent friendly helpful staff too.

Of all the restaurants in Reykjavík I visited that featured traditional Icelandic fare, this one seemed the most authentic. It has the feeling of a family-owned tavern, and the other diners were a healthy mix of locals and foreign visitors like myself. The menu has...More

I had the Christmas platter with samples of Icelandic Christmas food, it was delicious and I'm tempted to go back and have the same again!

We chose this restaurant to dine in for our last night in Iceland and I must say it was the right choice to close our ring road trip. Primarily we did so in order to taste exotic meat in one location namely, reindeer, puffin and...More

After long day of tours looked for a local pub with good food and casual atmosphere. Narrowed choices to three and reception at Hilton Nordica said definitely Islenski barinn specifically for the burgers. The recommendation was spot on. Short taxi ride and found seat at...More

Icelandic through and through. Icelandic cuisine with a twist. Not touristy, more the place for travelers to mix with the locals. The only bar in the world that serves all Icelandic beers and spirits.
