Most of their menu is gluten free (not the bread or wraps). We stopped here for an afternoon snack and were not disappointed. The place is down a back alleyway and up a flight of stairs. The earthy smells were amazing. We got smoothies, vegan...cheesecake and bliss balls. Everything was fantastic and we may stop by again before we leave Iceland.More

We went here the first night of our stay in Reykjavik and also 3 nights later it was so good. Highly recommend the African peanut stew and the hummus. Very casual setting with excellent service.

When you walk in the delicious scent of the dishes welcomes you. I ate African curry and Garlic Naan. It was mindblowingly good. The best vegetarian dish I have ever eaten anywhere. Easy going and pleasant atmosphere. Relaxed employees and everything was smooth and easy....I definately will be back. Clean toilets and the restaurant was also very well kept clean. Nice attic type second floor restaurant.More

Relaxing location in the center of Reykjavik. Had an excellent curry, great chocolate-tahini ball, and a lovely cappuccino. Fast service. Very happy.

We came here a few times on our trip to Iceland. It was a lovely cozy place with great vibes and tasty food. A haven from the cold outside and a perfect place to decompress. Thank you Mama Reykjavik!

After 4 days of eating and drinking we searched for a place to have a healthy wholesome lunch and we found it here. The bowls of food are presented beautifully with small accompaniments to celebrate the dish, we had chilli, African stew and the tahini...hummus. All fresh, with a bite of spice, delicious.More

Great vegan chilled restaurant with tasty interesting menu and some delicious drinks. The tahini humus is yummy and there is a good range of vegan and vegetarian stews and wraps. They stock some interesting coconut water drinks as well which we tried and were really...good.More

Terrific vegan spot with a really good selection of soft drinks to complement the meals. We were bowled over by the dhal, in particular, and would thoroughly suggest anyone (though particularly veggies and vegans) seek the place out and enjoy!

Worth the effort to find the somewhat hidden entrance to this amazing restaurant. You don't need a big menu if you do the food well, and that's exactly the case at Mama Reykjavik. I had the red lentil dhal which was delicious. From the first...bite I knew I'd made a good decision. As with many places in Iceland the price feels high but it's great, healthy, yummy food and would absolutely go back againMore

When you’re traveling with kids, it’s hard to find something that is healthy but filling, kid friendly but high quality, and delicious without being pretentious. Mama was amazing, and exceeded our expectations in every one of those ways. As we had read, it was a...little tricky to find, since the entrance is down a dead end alley on the left, and then up some stairs to a loft. Be persistent and you will be rewarded. In a city where many of the more renowned restaurants serve very small portions, we found ourselves so full we brought left overs back to our rental. My son is unbearably picky, but he loved the lentil chips and devoured the hummus. It was so nice to eat fresh vegetables, fresh sourdough bread, and incredibly delicious wraps and stews/curries. The sauces, particularly the chipotle sauce and the cilantro cashew cream, were incredibly delicious. The service was very friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was calming and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. When I’m traveling to a new place, I like to try as many new things as possible, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be back because it was just that good!More

I was so excited to find a healthy vegetarian restaurant in Reykjavik and Mama Reykjavik did not disappoint. Tucked away off of a busy shopping street, it’s an oasis from the crowds of tourists. The staff is friendly and warm and the place was cozy...and zen. I had the chili dish with fresh cilantro and chips and vegan sour cream served with rice and it was delicious. I was so happy for fresh cilantro! We also had matcha tea. My non vegetarian goddaughter loved her Dahl stew too. I wish I’d been able to try the desserts but we were so satiated and content with our meal. Definitely recommend!More
