Another place for seafood tasting, as a local friend suggested their fresh cod, so I ordered it for dinner. it's a boiled cod I guess, served with savoy cabbage (feels like in Poland where you can find cabbage in almost dishes :D ) and creamy sauce, tasted good. I also ordered the mash potatoes with mustard, a perfect combination for... More

this was my favourite spot in reykjavik! the menu was inspired, the (tuesday evening) jazz was cool and relaxed, a beautiful mix of locals and tourists, old and young alike. we were there for dinner and live jazz on tuesday night, 9:00 pm. our 14 year old son was in heaven! such a great spot in a city that's becoming... Had high hopes about this place from the reviews but were so disappointed! Staff was rude, table service inexistant, the food was mediocre at best (we had the burger + fish & chips + beer + wine). Do yourself a favor and walk cross the back alley to Kaffi Vinyl.

Casual place with many young hip friendly people. Eclectic decor with a wall of books. Sat by the large windows with old steamer trunks serving as the drinks table. Food and drink is expensive all over Iceland, so it's great to enjoy a happy hour at this fun place. We watched the clouds and sun change as dusk approached over... More

The bar itself is lovely. The drinks- a little overpriced (1000ISK for a small glass of house wine) but you would at least expect good service for this cost. The barman, a tall blonde fellow, was not helpful at all when we enquired about spirits and rather rude. He then came around the tables and my drinks was resting on... More

We were warned that food in Iceland would be expensive. We were happy to stumble into this KEX Hostel Restaurant. Located up a flight of stairs just a few doors down from the Foss Baron Hotel, this restaurant offered great food, delightful service, friendly atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. Our waiter offered suggestions beased on his knowledge of the day's choices.... More

A bit hard to find (we walked by the entrance a few times) but worth the trip! Very reasonably priced (for Iceland), and a great beer selection. Very cool interior space.

We visited kex hostel restaurant after reading all of the fantastic reviews on trip advisor. The food was reasonably priced but my god was it salty! We had chicken wings to start and I could only have 1 because of the amount of salt - I don't know if it's an Icelandic thing (we didn't experience it anywhere else) or... More

The place offers good food and beer, and could be a nice joint to drink, nibble and hang out informally with friends who can keep themselves entertained. However, if you are very hungry or looking for a quality restaurant experience this is not the place. Staff is busy, visibly unhappy and oozes attitude. The dishes are relatively small, not much...
