Some of the best pastry and baked goods I’ve ever had. Good coffee too. Take out or dine in. No wonder there’s ways a line! Great place for breakfast or lunch or a coffee break. Speedy friendly service.

Amazing sandwiches, pastries, and breads. In the course of this trip we tried several sandwich offerings, all delicious and substantial. BLT with avocado sauce was packed with thick smoky bacon and a lovely spicy mayo. The chicken sandwich was bursting with chicken. Smoked salmon had...excellent smoked fish and an outstanding ciabatta roll. The smoked lamb sandwich was beyond delicious, like a decadent version of pulled meat topped with spicy sauce and melted cheese. Lemon tart had a beautifully crisp crust and tart-sweet filling, topped with a chewy vanilla meringue. Breakfast pastries were pure comfort food. We didn't try the pasta or other lunch dishes but they looked delicious also. Some reviewers objected to what they deemed to be negative attitude by waitstaff, to which I say, so what? I didn't actually experience any unprofessionalism, just a little big-city distance....and the food was so good that I frankly wouldn't have cared if the servers had sneered as they'd set the plates in front of me. I don't eat out for the waitstaff's approval....I go for the food. Locals line up to eat here, which should tell you everything you need to know.More

Small cafe with great pastry, sandwiches, and a few very good breakfast options. We had the Shakshuka, skyr, chia pudding, and a couple of pastries, all were excellent.

Yum yum yum. So much choice! Absolutely delicious cakes and coffee (big praise from a self confessed coffee snob!). Nice decor & seating area. Friendly staff. This bakery is a must-do if you're in Reykjavik.

My husband and I came here for breakfast. It is a very cute restaurant with beautiful pastries and delicious meals. I would definitely recommend coming for the food! The only thing I wish was better is the service. The host and waiter were incredibly rude....Wouldn’t look at us, even when we asked a question, mumbled under their breath, and threw stuff on the table and walked away. As an American, I know we have a different expectation for hospitality, but setting that aside, it still stood out as cold compared to any other place we have traveled to (in Iceland and internationally). I’d still say the food is worth it, just don’t come in expecting a welcoming service experience and you won’t be let down! I got the shakshuka with eggs and would strongly recommend it if you enjoy tomatoes!More

This was suggested by the Hotel staff as we arrived early in the morning. It was well worth the walk to eat there! The pastries, the waffles..Excellent. Even if you just want coffee and a pastry, it is a must go to place!

Service and atmosphere are lovely. But I'm rating it a 2 simply for the lack of vegan options. Every other bakery in the city has at least one pastry that is vegan. I've lived in Reykjavík for 7 years and have even previously had a...vegan pastry from Sandholt. This must have changed since I was last here. The waiter was sweet and sympathetic when I asked her what the vegan choice for pastry was, but sadly there were none. For breakfast I went for the only vegan option (Shakahuka) which I didn't even bother to finish. For 2.790kr I expect more than an unseasoned warm bowl of tinned tomatoes and chickpeas. Having been a chef in Reykjavík I know exactly how little the dish would have cost to make compared to the price it is sold for. Also I was shocked that the only vegan option is served with butter. This was on the side and removable but don't advertise it as a vegan dish if it's not. The dish wasn't even spiced (not even salt and pepper). Definitely do not recommend for vegans. Its such a shame as even places like KFC have good vegan options now. It's a shame that a restaurant with so many nice options for non-vegans doesn't have more than a warmed bowl of flavourless chickpeas in tinned tomatoes.More

Pastries to takeaway are amazing! Whilst queueing up, the cafe food looked incredible too, and if we go back to Iceland we will definitely be eating in. As it was, we just used the shop but that is great for takeaway bites.

From the moment you walk in, it is a feast for the eyes. I had the Danish pastry and it was delicious. The pastry melted in my mouth and the custard cream was amazing!

The queue of people waiting for a table said it all, this was the right place for lunch and it didn’t let us down! You waited along side the display unit, looking at the mouth watering breads, chocolates and pastries. The queue went quickly and...we were presented with the best of table in the house. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was simple but done really well. I have to give the cream butter a shout out! Yum! Quick, tasty, friendly and definitely worth recommending.More

We recently visited the pastry bakery and was blown away by the delicious pastries and desserts they offered. The selection was extensive and each item looked more tempting than the last. I tried danishes, lemon tart, sandwiches and each one was perfection. The pastries were...light, flaky, and freshly made, and the fruit tart was bursting with flavor. We also had a sit dow lunch and the service was great.More
