Once you've eaten a cake prepared by Bakery and Konditorei Bernhöft you will be judging all others by this standard. I've only had coffee and cake here and there are numerous delicious varieties to choose from, e.g. Black Forest Gateau, Rum Balls, Carrot cake and...More

This little and old bakery is the perfect way to start your day of exploring Reykjavik. They are offering fair prices and top quality. The taste and quality match the promises delivered by the sights and smells of strong coffee, fresh baked bread, and pastries...More

We found this place by accident while visiting the Sun Voyager. This old bakery is just a cross the street on the corner of Klapparstigur and Skulagata. Bernhoftsbakari is both the oldest bakery and also the oldest Company in Iceland. They are world famous for...More

I stumbled across the oldest bakery in Reykjavik by accident and decided to have a look. This is not a high end patisserie but a traditional scandinavian balery with an assortment of wienerbrod, marzipan delights and an intersting take on floertines. The bread looked sensational...More

I love breads and pastry. Perhaps other bakeries make it just the same way or even better but this is still my favourite bakery in Iceland. The current location is the third one I remember.

Stopped in for breakfast and there was so much to choose from it was difficult! The pastry was very good. It's small on the inside but there is window seating.
