The restaurant is lovely; with the food and drinks being very good and having great presentation, but the service was unfortunately lacking and inattentive. For instance, when we gestured for our plates and empty glasses to be removed from our table the staff would glance...at our table and pass by; making us feel very ignored.More

We noticed this low profile restaurant while enjoying the shops and sights of Reykjavik city center. The decor is cozy and inviting. Our server was friendly and professional and very attentive. Our meal started with the bread basket with truffle honey butter. Not being a...fan of truffle, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The chewy and flavorful bread was delicious. My husband had the fresh fish of the day (perch) which was prepared perfectly and was served with potatoes, zucchini, and sauce. I had the birch smoked salmon which was artistically presented and flavorful. We shared the noisette and chili corn side - a perfect accompaniment. This was our first visit to Reykjavik and for a quick visit, we were really pleased with our Icelandic dinner.More

One of the best meals ever. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. We just happened on this place by accident but learnt later that it is a popular place with locals for special occasions.

Cosy atmosphere with low lighting and busy restaurant. The food was amazing but slightly slow service. Everyone ordered the three course menu and really enjoyed it ! Book advance to get a table !

Went for brunch with family, all adults and we all had a great time. From start to finish every course was beautilful on the plate and the mix of the food was very enjoyable and new for me. The service was spotless, drinks came fast...and serving the brunch gave us a little bit time between courses.More

The service was terrible and they could have cared less that we were there. We were seated for 15 minutes before we were even given a menu and I had to ask for service. When service did come it was with a terrible attitude.

Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the Tasting Menu with wine pairing last weekend. The food, presentation, service and wines were superb. The atmosphere was lovely, predominantly locals out enjoying a nice meal with a happy vibe. We’ll be back on our next trip. Well...done to all at Kol.More

The food, atmosphere and staff are all outstanding. We were a large group celebrating a birthday and nothing was too much trouble. The set menu was superb quality. Beef tataki and the tenderloin with the duck risotto the highlights. Would highly recommend for a meal...with friends or as a couple. Great vibe.More

Possibly the worst dining experience I had in Reykjavik. Waited 45 min to get the food menus, overall service was very poor. The vegan tasting menu had small portions and as much as I appreciate fine dining, this was a wannabe version of it. “Tomato...consommé” was tomato water served in a shot glass, that was supposed to be an appetizer on the menu. It’s a shame because it was my friend’s birthday and we could tell he didnt enjoy it fully. Won’t come back.More

Prices are high but food and service are great. We went here based on reviews and really enjoyed it. Not cheap 350 for 4 people with no apps or desert but the food was excellent, service great and a cozy atmosphere. I would recommend.

We ate at this restaurant our last night in Iceland, after having several top-notch meals. This one was by far the best- which is saying a lot because we did not have a bad meal throughout our week in Iceland. From the cocktails to the...apps to the main courses and dessert everything was amazing! The servers were friendly and offered their suggestions for both drinks and food- which we took. we all agreed that the reindeer was the best meal we had on this trip. The prices are a bit high, but so is the quality. Definitely recommend putting this on your food itinerary for your visit to Reykjavík.More

Went for new years eve. Had to prepay for the set menu which wasn't cheap but we were in Iceland for new years and reviews were good. Everything had so many flavours it was a bit overwhelming but that could just be my personal taste...but the main course which was beef tenderloin came out and it was basically a piece of raw meat on the plate. I tried eating it but it was actually cold. I told the waitress I couldn't eat it as it was raw and she just said sorry and took it away. Then when the bill for the drinks came I brought it up again with another waitress who said I should have said something which I replied I did and she said "oh and nothing was done?" I replied yes and that was that!!! They had my money so they didn't care. I wouldn't prepay for food ever again, a deposit yes but not pre paying. It means they don't have to put any pride in their food. A disappointing evening as we were there for new years and it was our most expensive meal ever!More
