Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You go to this no-frills local bar-café for the homemade and oven-fresh pastizzi: some of the best in Malta. There is some outside seating: if there are no available tables, try the nearby park overlooking the walls of Mdina.

Tiny place next to the car park you reach by bus when you arrive in Mdina, very crowded with tourists and locals but still very convenient (two pastizzi and a small hot drink cost €1.70). Pastizzi are crunchy and tasty, the hot beverage is really...hot so be careful!More

The shop owner gave us the completely wrong order-very disappointed. I have some allergies in which the shop owner has put in our order.

Called in here when on a day trip to Rabat. Great spot to grab a sweet or savoury snack. The place was buzzing with life and the reputation speaks for itself with how busy it is throughout the day. I had the Peas Pastizzi which...had a great flavour but it was greasier than another other I have tried on the island.More

Definitely worth the hype and with seating shared with a lovely cake/coffee shop a great stop. And considering how much publicity they have the prices haven't gone through the roof.

Basic local bar selling fresh from the oven pastizzi and qassatat (peas, ricotta, chicken or anchovies fillings). Delicious and cheap. Couple of teas and cisk beers. Perfect snack break. Continuous stream of locals and tourists.

Early morning trip to Mdina. Was walking and noticed this place was busy around 9am. Popped in and ordered a pea pastizzi, qaghaq ta’ l-ghasel, fresh milk Maltese tea and coffee for €2.90!!! Was definitely worth it.

Purchased Pastizz ricotta x 2 plus an anchovie one . Cost 60c each . Total for 1 large...can of Cisk plus 3 Pastizz €3.90. Lots of locals eating here which is always a good sign . Nice for a quick bite .More

Whar a dump...surely the place to go if you have a deathwish. Worse than a 3rd-World fast food joint. Avoid this place like the plague.

Simple old traditional bakery with amazing fresh bakery. We was surprised how good it is! Also prices was too pretty cheap: 0.6 cents for the bun.

“We had a fantastic experience at this bakery! The products were not only incredibly affordable but also exceptionally delicious. We tried a variety of pastizzi including the chicken, cheese-filled, and ones with anchovies. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and the freshness of the...ingredients really shone through. The combination of affordability and great taste makes this bakery a must-visit. We’ll definitely be returning for more!”More

After consuming many Pastizzi throughout Malta, this place is definitely up there with the best. Not as oily as others, and larger in size compared to others. A place where the locals eat !

Excellent qassatat and pastizzi, delicious! It’s a tiny cafe with a few seats outside but well worth the visit if you are going to Mdina (it’s a very short walk away).

We went to that dirty place after reading all the reviews about the best pastizzi in the island! I really don't understand how everyone raves about this kind of food !!It's a small burned and greasy thing, with no taste at all that will send...you straight to the doctor!! The filling (ricotta ) was absent and all the rest was a greasy phyllo! I assume the good reviews are for the cheap price and not the food itself!More

By far the best place in malta for traditional Maltese pastizzi! So delicious we went back for more! My favourite was definitely the ricotta. A good snack/lunch spot after visiting Mdina gate & surrounding areas.

There was nothing mentioned on the price list so I doubt it. This seems to be a very traditional establishment and not in keeping with more modern trends.

Think it is pretty much 24/7. Weekends folk come here for a snack after clubbing in early hours.😂
