Third time on a row that we've chosen the Meierei am Stadtpark for lunch. We actually never regret having chosen this place. The tartare the boeuf is a real pleasure as well as from image point of view as from taste. Also the goulache is well thought: nice dish and good taste. We do not regret coming to the Meierei.

We headed here on our wedding anniversary after hearing good things. At first it was not looking good as they had not received our reservation but thankfully found us a table. The goulash was amazing and matched well with a good bottle of blaufrankisch. This was followed by a selection of Hungarian cheeses and apple strudel with vanilla sauce. My... More

I recommend that you try to book a table during the earlier hours of the day, as it gets pretty packed after 10.30AM. what I like the most about this restaurant was the service. everyone was very friendly, available and professional. the choices of breakfast were fine, and the quality was very good. but I wouldn't say that it is... Had a most wonderful dinner at this jewel of Vienna. The Meierei is the offshoot (more down to earth fine dining) of Steirereck, one of the best 15 restaurants worldwide. It is set in the middle of the Stadtpark (central park of Vienna) and on summer days and evening the outdoor seating is just fantastic. If you combine that with... More

We went for dinner and chose the 4 course set Winter menu with matched wines. Service was reasonsble, unfortunately the food was terrible. Badly combined flavours and textures: like they were trying desperately to mimic Michelin star innovation but had the apprentice chef designing the menu. They would have done better sticking to more simple fare that was well cooked... More

The selection of fine cheeses and pastries is wonderful, all accompanied by a pleasant view of the city river, however, the size of coffee and lack of free refills coupled with a la carte pricing tarnished the experience and memory.

Inside a nice park very nice and tasty place. It is famous for breakfast but if you are late like us, you can enjoy the much here as well. It is dairy which means you can have large menus of milky choices. Worth visiting..

Have visited this place several times - it is beautifully located right in the hear of the city, but in the wonderful park. You need to make sure you book, arrive in plenty of time, and take your time over selection. The service is often brusque and seemingly unfriendly, but never 'rude'. If you are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, this will... More

Unfortunately this restaurant seems to earn too much money and they do not have the need to be service oriented anymore. table reservation for breakfast only for limited time of 1,5 hours (to make sure that they can sell each table multiple times?) Despite very high prices you have to pay for every extra (second piece of bread for tartar)... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
