The restaurant has windows instead of side walls, allowing to get an amazing 360-degree view of Vienna. The view is shared with the bar a well. Dining while seeing Stephansdom, the Rathaus, the Prater, Urania, the Danube canal etc. is a unique experience that is worth the price.

We had a family lunch with my wife and our five children last week. It started a bit difficult as we first were offered a fixed menu for all referring to the size of our group. Eventually we could agree on an á-la-carte lunch. It would have been a shame to miss it! I grew up in Vienna and have... More

Went there last week with my husband as part of our honeymoon in Vienna. We made last minute reservations so it was nice to get a table at 6pm. We ordered all 3 appetizers on the menu which were all quite small but tasty. The canned tomatoes for example for 7euros was literally 4 cherry pickled tomatoes. The main meal... More

Amazing 360 degree view really eveey table has a view! Very tasty pasta with truffle if a little pricy, nice wine and Sacher Torte. Good service - they even charged my phone for me! Worth a visit for the view and not that busy at lunchtime.

The view is amazing and worth the rudeness of some of the bar and restaurant staff but it is very expensive for the quality of food served. I asked for a drinks menu at the bar and was basically told to sit down by the barman and wait for table service. The restaurant has quite a trendy approach to the... More

Must be one of the best views from this topfloor restaurant, lounge and bar. The service was also good as well as the 4 cource food. The only thing, very important though, was that their red wine spoiled the dinner. It was Zweigelt Das Loft Edition 2013. Do not recommend that wine for even tasting as it was very far... More

We went to the restaurant on a Saturday night with two friends. Although the view is breathtaking , we were quite disappointed with the quantity of food at dinner.we thought the value for money was poor and they should tell us the portions are small so that you can decide for the hopefully filling set discovery menu.

Although we could not get a full lunch due to our late arrival, we had the main course which was great. Service is unfortunately unacceptable for a restaurant part of an hotel chain like Sofitel. Waitress was not friendly and even left with our credit card!

The restaurant/bar is located on the top floor of the building (18th Floor). From there you are able to see all of Vienna. Service is not as great as it should be. Price is also a bit high, but expected for a five star hotel bar/restaurant. Well worth it to go just for the view.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
