Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We passed this cafe after coming out of the underground and decided to sit outside and have a few drinks. Service was friendly and efficient and although we didn’t eat we certainly checked out the cakes that were on show and they looked delicious! Expect...to pay around 7€ for a beer 🍺. A lovely Sunday afternoon spent here.More

From the reviews, this is Marmite. We liked it. It is a place with a varity of clienteles and lively staff, who seem to enjoy working here. Daytime cafe, cakes, reading the newspaper and soforth then evening restaurant. Probably unchanged for a long time. The...service was good, the atmosphere buzzing with a party in the extended part of the café, and the food all you could hope for. Well situated.More

I was looking forward to visiting this café after reading about its history and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was great, the service was quick and accommodating, and the food was exceptional. Both the goulash and garlic soup were superb and just what we...needed on a cold afternoon. They also have a wide range of delicious cakes - I highly recommend their Kinderschnitte (coffee cream cake). Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and can see why it's so popular with both locals and tourists.More

Due to our schedule, we spent a lot of time in the Karlsplatz area of this trip. As a result, we were at Cafe Museum three times: coffee and dessert, lunch and breakfast. Service was always impeccable. They take pride in their service and should....Classic Vienese specialties were well presented and flavorful. Try the kaisersmarm, schnitzel, eggs benedict, and, really, anything else. The coffees arrive quickly and were excellent.More

Pretty good menu, especially enjoyed my beef tartare, and a beer, with toast on the side, comfortable Viennese environment, and friendly service, will definitely go again.

In Vienna to visit Christmas Markets. It was like being in a snow globe as it was snowing heavily and Vienna looked even more beautiful blanketed in snow. Lunchtime, we headed for Café Museum.. We were warmly welcomed and seated at a table straight away...which was a pleasant surprise given that it was packed with customers !. A wide and varied menu offered lots of choice.opting for speciality coffees and a very tasty plate of Bratwurst/ Potatoes followed by delicious Strudel and Sachertorte and further coffees The staff were amazing with great service in a full, busy environment. We could have sat there the whole afternoon though further markets had to be visited. Thank you so much for an amazing Viennese Cafe experience.More

Traditional Viennese breakfast place with lovely food, good service and lovely surroundings. Our first morning in Vienna and we couldn’t have chosen a better place for breakfast. It was busy, but the service was excellent. Good price and hot fresh food.

Cafe Museum is a classic Viennese cafe located on Operngasse near Karlsplatz. They opened up in 1899 and offer nice atmosphere along with a traditional Viennese menu and service. There is a fair amount of outdoor seating as well. Opening hours are 8am to 9pm...daily. We stopped here after a fairly long day of sightseeing for a coffee and beer. The Einspanner was nice. Very good espresso with plenty of whipped cream. It tasted perfect. Ottrakring tasted as expected. Service was friendly and expedient. This was a good afternoon stop to rest our feet. Would gladly do so again at Cafe Museum during future visits to Vienna.More

Overpriced coffee, over 7e for a small coffee upstairs because it comes in a small teapot and then to ask for a tip. This place us seriously over prices and the expectation of a tip for a coffee is beyond a joke.

Excellent old style, classical Coffee House. Now under Landtmann ownership (see separate review, the politicisns' favourite). We had two excellent Grosser Baune, paired with Apfel Strudel with Custard. Heavenly, excellent service. And so much quieter than in the winter months. We will return. Hayling Seagoon
