Zur Grunen Hutte serves typically Austrian food - but I found most of it quite mediocre in quality. The service was a little impersonal. Much more could have been expected - given the excellent location.

Stayed in hotel near to Prater shows and had read reviews on this restaurant. Could not believe the number of people that were eating there and after 10 minutes managed to tag on to the end of a large table. Noisy but good fun noise. Menu in german and there are waiters who serve drinks (the wheat beer is great)... More

Once they did reasonable serving sizes, sound pricing and had friendly waiter. All of these we did not experience any more. Quality of Food was ok.

It is massively overpriced and quality of fresh produce is very very weak. You are better off at any Würstelstand in Prater or even at McDonalds or a Gas Station as they are at least cheap. They have been holding an exclusive licence for extended opening hours for ages and it seems they never had to deliver even average quality.... More

Pretty standard fare but well done. Good service & value for money. Certainly worth using if you're at the Messe or the Prater

The interior of this restaurant is quite a simple, looks like a some very basic hamburger restaurant. However, there is a very good menu, prices are not bad at all, and at least my meal was very good.

Didn't see it at first - hidden behind a small store. Simple but comfortable decor. Nice menu. I had the classic schnitzel which was really fresh and delicious. Good Austrian beer to wash it down. And literally just outside the station.

I dropped in today for lunch and had a lovely meal for a really reasonable price. Very friendly staff and a pleasant place to sit. Would recommend.

We were staying at Messe late December and was looking for something close for dinner. We found the servings to be quite large and the Schnitzels were great. It is quite hidden and not much in the way of signage but worth the effort.

The prices are reasonable for Viena and the food is very good. I took beef steak and it was really very well cooked. My friends took snitzel and it was also good.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
