We found this SEGAFREDO Italian Cafe near the centre of Vienna, and were astonished that we did not find any traditional VIENNA CAFE, so we decided to go for the Standard of Italian Cafe, the SEGAFREDO, we know from our various tours. It was nice, fresh, well tasting.and a reasonably good variety of cakes.

Lovely place for good coffee right in the heart of Vienna friendly service & convenient only draw back was the long flight of stairs down to the rest rooms!! They do have an electric stair lift for the disabled but it is very very slow & takes ages to get down to the bottom so don't be in a rush... More

We were waiting for 20 minutes to order our coffee and the coffee was to expensive for the quality. The stuff was not kind and we must wait for our drinks to get them another 15 minutes. It is a big place outside and only two women were working. I wouldn't recommended this place.

Before a long day of touring, we wandered into the center of Vienna to enjoy a leisurely drink of something. As it was a Sunday morning, we did not hold out a lot of hope that we would find something. But we came upon this cafe with an abundance of outdoor seating and ordered our refreshments - coffee for my... More

Whenever we previously visited the inner city we had a very good coffee there and enjoyed it. The service is sometimes slow , but this did not matter as we were on holiday. What mattered of late however was the intrusion of beggars and flower sellers.

The waiter was surprisingly helpful. We had been warned of a tendency to be a little brash... Not so here. Sitting and drinking a cup of Viennese coffee, watching people, and reviewing the morning was perfect.

Segafredo serves in- and outside. Outside is two huge seating areas in the middle of Graben, where you can enjoy people passing by. Segafredo offers huge coffee selection, cakes, snacks and alike.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
