Unique Austrian eating experience. Excellent service with decent wine and a comprehensive buffet selection. Entertained by an ancient duo with guitar and accordion. All the clients were locals. Hostess spoke excellent English and was charming.

Feels like home, warm, friendly, good food, good wine and helpful people. A true Austrian, or rather Vienna experience, few capitals in the world have vineyeards in the city . Located 5 km from Schottentor, easy and fast trip with tram 37. Love the buffe, my personal favourite is fried zucchini, but don't forget to try the local cheeses, even... More

Just wanted a drink before dinner on "Beethoven strasse". Visited here last 30 years ago and pleased to see it has retained its ambiance. So pleasant to be in the courtyard with vines overhead and the fresh crisp taste of the area's veltliner white wine. Friendly waitress with good English. Lots of heuriger atmosphere.

Nicely located pub, bar, restaurant in the outskirts, hills of Vienna. Feels more like being in a small wine-growing village then a big city. Place has weinstube(pub), restaurant as well as outdoor seating. Stube/restaurant in traditional austrian style (wooden walls, ceilings..) Food, traditional style lots of meats (sausage, Snitzel, speck, chicken, roasts) Wine by the pitcher or bottle (locally grown)good... More

Great typically Austrian Heuriger with traditionally Austrian food like Schnitzel (buffe style). Food was ok and local wine was very good, but the best was the location with excellent ambience.

I wander off to this place after a 20 minute tram ride (number 37) from Schottentor. It's the first and last stop for the tram... You cannot really mess this up at all. It's a peaceful place and people are very friendly. Although we don't speak one word of German, the folks in the restaurant are very helpful. The black... More

We were not sure which Heuriger to pick and stumbled on this one kind of by accident coming from the Beethoven Pasqualatihaus. We couldn't have made a better choice! It was a beaufiful late afternoon/ early evening and was not yet crowded. The food was kind of counter style and they had lots of choices. Daughter is vegetarian and they... More

Not ONE other table of tourist. This was not an easily accessible place by public transportation. However, if you have a few people, then the 16 Euro ride by taxi isn't bad at all. Not only do you get to sample great wine produced by the winery, the food is tasty too. We had pork belly and the VERY tasty... More

Was taken by some colleagues who assured me they had proper Wiener schnitzel here. Was not disappointed. We were seated outside and when it started raining, the staff was very helpful in sheltering us under umbrellas. Good beer, great shnitzel, decent prices. Worth going out of your way for.

We actually walked out of another place because they were so rude, came here, and were immediately welcomed even though we were not locals. The wine selection was not extensive, but what we had was very good. The food selection/quality was great, and they took the time to explain to us the different choices and how the process worked. The... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
