We were staying at the Intercontinentala few blocks away where the breakfast was 33 euros a person. Found this sweet place, very happy. Good coffee and hot chocolate, amongst us had fried. scrambled, and soft boiled eggs with great black bread and a nice cheese plate, all for about 58 euros for four of us (including top and extra coffee).... We looked around for ages for somewhere to have breakfast (around 11am) everywhere just wasn't quite right. Found this place and mentioned we were after breakfast and they brought out a different menu for us. One head waitress who was in charge and made a great difference

Friendly traditional long established Viennese cafe on Johannesgasse.. but away from the crowds, popular with local people. Great to sit outside with a coffee and fresh pastry.

Lovely little cafe serving great coffee and pastries. Pleasant staff too! We returned each day we were in Vienna. Definitely worth a visit!

My husband and I were staying in the Intercontinental Hotel just down the street from this cafe and we happened to stop here for breakfast one morning. The breads and pastries were homemade and baked fresh, the coffee was delicious, and the breakfast was very reasonably priced. We returned for breakfast every morning for the next 4 days we spent... On our second day in Vienna my wife and I passed Cafe Wolfbauer while looking for a simple breakfast and tea. We found a great little place right near our hotel that served delicious pastries and had great staff. Loved the service and loved the food.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
