But what a sausage and stuffed with cheese on a bread roll with onions. I don't usually eat hot dogs but when in Vienna it's a must as they are not like the insipid things we get in the UK. Delicious, hot and huge - everybody eats them.

A typical Kiosk right in the centre of town. Great if you want some thing to eat and don't mind eating at the Kiosk. Good value for money if you want something fast simple and filling. A good example of the genre.

This is my FAVORITE place to get my favorite meal in Vienna... the kasekrainer! When in Vienna, I go to this stand 3-4 times. I used to go here when I was in college and each time I return to Vienna, I make sure to have the kasekrainer. This stand is always busy - the man who runs the stand... More

When I was a student in Vienna 45 years ago, I used to get a late night snack at Wurstl stands by The Graben near St. Stephan's Cathedral. I recently went back to Wien for a college reunion and was pleased to see my Wurstl stand still serving wonderful grilled sausages on freshly baked hard rolls. Add some Senf (mustard)... More

I know that is not a proper restaurant but the service was awful, they tried to cheat me giving me the wrong change and the cook was not clean at all. I won't come back..

Went there for 2 hotdog and 2 beers, he charged me €24,70!! Which supposed to be something around €14!! And when I get back to ask how, he just gave me another €5 but it is still over price than on the menu. I think he just ask over price from tourists, be careful!!

Honestly, I fell in love with the Würstl stands when in Vienna. Everywhere I went...I hoped to find one nearby... and did. Loved it. There's a variety of different sausages and drinks and they are SO juicy and full of flavour. I wish I could have one right now!! Very cheap, very tasty. MUST go to one when in Vienna.... More

This is by far the best hot dog in Vienna. Lots of types of sausages, friendly service, the personnel wears hygiene gloves.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
