We recently had a family dinner in this fine restaurant. Its probably 50% more expensive than other places in the city but you cannot find fault at anything in this restaurant. The service was impeccable, the food second to none. We all had different Main Meals and desserts and we all were very satified with what we ate. Highly recommended.

The place is small but very clean and the prices are super, considering that the dishes are huge...and everything is delicious. Important to know that is was opened today (January 1st)...for future reference

If you come to this restaurant, you have to order Vienna schnitzel! They know how to cook an original Vienna schnitzel. Take in account that the schnitzel is huge, so if you're not that hungry, it's worth to think about ordering 1 portion for 2 persons!

After 5 days in Vienna center I found it difficult to get a nice restaurant between 19-21.00 in the evening, it seemed all proper local ones were busy and you needed to book in advance so we went to a Pizzaria, Georgian and Chinese restaurant before managing a tiny table good for 3 adults and a baby in the middle... Excellent and reliable Wiener Schnitzel in a 1890's Vienna ambience. Service and food were very good. In nice weather, sit outside near the park.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
