Gasthaus Sapa is so far the best Vietnamese restaurant I have tried in Vienna. Close to Mariahilferstrasse (I. E. City center), it offers several tables for outdoor sitting and also two rooms - smoking and non-smoking one. In terms of interior it is nothing special, I would rather say old, but the food and service are very good. The menu... More

Fantastic spring rolls and and delicious Vietnamese pho! Good atmosphere, service sometimes slower, but a great place to relax and take your time! Great little area, seating inside with huge open windows or outside on sidewalk patio.

Food served is delicious, staff is polite and quick. This is a must for every person visiting Vienna wanting to try some rolls. Authentic but with their own touch.

This is a very good value Vietnamese restaurant. I had the stir fried chicken and vegetables, which was very fresh, and delicious, while my partner had the stir fried chicken, vegetables with noodles, which was also very good. The service was friendly and quick. Although the seating is simple, this is a very popular place to eat with the locals... More

I love Vietnamese food and my first try is always the pho and some rolls to see how the kitchen is doing... The rolls were excellent - honey-roasted pork was my first option. A Vietnamese lady prepares them at a desk outside the kitchen, so you can enjoy the preparation. The pho was very nice, but for me it could... More

After a day of sightseeing around Vienna it was cold and had been snowing all day. My partner and I fancied some food with a bit of heat in it and found Sapa while searching the internet on his phone. We found it eventually, sign was hard to see and it read 'Tart'a Tata'. When we entered it is a... More

For Viennese standards: great taste and quality, decent price, big portions, it will satisfy you even when you are very hungry. In evenings full and loud, rather hip. Menu doesn't change, but food tastes really nice. You know what to expect.

Sapa was close to our hotel (Hotel Altstadt) and came recommended so we gave it a shot. It's a little hard to find in that it doesn't really have a sign out front, but luckily I had visited their website beforehand and saw what it looked like there so I knew what to look for; otherwise I think we would... First of all: I hate restaurants where people can smoke ( even in separate room, it stinks, but this is Austria, and people still smoke indoors). This was one of the reasons why I wanted take away. I have received what I was expecting: a Pho soup which can be appreciated by everyone, huge spring rolls, and some other dishes... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
