Lovely place, nice people. Food and beverages are good (average prices for Vienna), even though I never had a proper meal at Café Europa. I would definitely suggest it for a coffee, a beer or a wine with a snack. Sunday brunch was also good!

This is the place to have your beer or wine, or capuccino and pastry and linger to watch all the passersby! Amazing people watching after a long day of walking and siteseeing!

After paying our bill for the entire evening, it became clear that our waiter had charged us one drink too little. After trying to bring it to his attention (amongst the mass of people inside), he automatically implied that we had cheated him and became very aggressive and made threats! Avoid this place if you don' want your night to... More

Midrange eatery in downtown Vienna, close to the cathedral. Good for a reasonably quick bite before a show or in between locals sights-

Great place to go for a drink. I was there on a weeknight. A little bit of a greasy odor coming from the kitchen, which stays in your coat and scarf, but that is the only minus point.

Europa is a nice bar in the evening, but also a place where one can eat breakfast or even lunch. We went there just for drinks, which were very good: Caipirinha and home-made ginger-basil lemonade. The atmosphere was nice, the music good and not excessively loud. The only downside for us, who are non-smokers, was that the smoking part is... More

We went because my teenagers like pasta. But we all walked away happy. I had a ginger carrot soup that was great. Two guys had Reubens with a tasty walnut spread instead of standard 1000 island. And one had pesto pasta. Everything was great. The atmosphere was perfect for our last meal in town--watching the Viennese enjoy life.

Went to Europa late in the afternoon for a snack and drink. Seated very close to the next table so were practically on their laps. Loud atmosphere so don't go here thinking you can read or talk intimately. Club sandwich was great! Curry sauce was great and potatoes crispy !! Would go back again.

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
