We got in just in time to sneak in lunch before all the reservations, and I am glad we did. The schnitzel and beef goulash were fantastic, and the portions were huge. We left the place more than satisfied (and a little stunned with food).

Nice restaurant in the center of Vienna. It looks very rustic and the service is appropriate but not fine dining. Nonetheless, we wanted to have our first real wienerschnitzel in Vienna and we were told that Puerstner's was the best. It proved to be true. You need to work up an appetite to finish your plate. The schnitzel is this... More

Went on a Saturday night at 6:30. I was able to email the restaurant the night before and was able to get a great seat inside of a large barrel. The spareribs included two racks of ribs and the potatoes. A nice night all around in Vienna.

We had a hugely satisfying dinner here, fantastic value, good choice of wines and outrageous portions!! I ordered the ribs which came with a white cabbage salad, excellent! Sit back, 2 full racks of ribs..... the goulash was also delicious, suggest sharing some of the plates. Cozy atmosphere and friendly, enthusiastic staff. Right across from Porgy & Bess Jazz Bar.... This is a typical traditional Austrian restaurant with local dished. The schnitzel was very good. I found it a little smelly inside though. Service was fast and friendly, not very sophisticated. If you want to go for a good quality, traditional meal without too much 'schmuck' - this is a good place to go.

This was our last meal in Munich and was one of our best. Group of 4 of us ate here and everyone loved it. I had a starter of Carpaccio and it was very good, although small portion. For my main course I had the Schweinsschnitzel and it was awesome. Service was very good, and the atmosphere seemed authentic old... More

If you are looking for authentic Austrian food, this restaurant is the best choice. We were eating here Wiener schnitzel, and ribs. It was so tasty. Definitely, we will come back to this place, when we come again to Vienna!

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
