There were multiple mistakes in terms of our meals when we descended en mass to this restaurant, but they were all our own making and the staff at this place really went overboard to manage a bunch of fools. We were asked to put in our orders days before we all came to Oslo, which most of us did; however,... More

This pub is fantastic! We were looking for a classic Scandinavian gastropub and we found it! The atmosphere was perfect, filled with people chatting and enjoying themselves. The bartenders were very kind (and spoke great English), and the food was insanely delicious. We had the sausage and tender beef and could not have been happier! The beer options were also... More

For traditional Norwegian food, in my case stock fish, a typical Christmas meal, this restaurant is ideal. A simple and rustique interior, wholesome and friendly staff, no finesse but good atmosphere. A very nice detail was the assortment of snaps and eau de vie, everything from Norway, and good at that!

Wonderful little place close to Karl Johans gate. We had two halfmeals, halibut and the deer. We had to ask extra for potatoes. The food was great. The place has a lot of nice local beers. Dont miss the beer bottle list. The service could have been better, it took a lot of time to order some extra beers.

Great food and beer with a lot of variety of both. It was a little hard to get service at first but once we had someone's attention they were very attentive to us throughout the night, giving us lots of great recommendations and honest opinions on food/drinks. Lots of locals here who actually broke out into song at one point.... More

We popped in for dinner and drinks. The idea of half plates and full plates was great as it meant we opted for one full plate and two half plates between two of us. (A half plate on it's own isn't enough for a meal). The food was delicious - beautifully cooked and well presented. Prices were pretty typical for... More

If you would like to try the Norwegian version of a gastro pub, Handverkerstuene is an excellent choice. The selection of beers (both draft and bottled) is extensive and of excellent quality. The food is regional and wholesome - and complements the beer very well.

Me and some colleagues were having some beers and decided to order their friday specialty, sausage served in bread or waffle, simple enough. However, this was going to prove itself to be the most tedious meal we've ever ordered! First my colleague ordered, and we waited for 30 minutes, no sign of any sausage, then he asked the staff if... I really liked this place. It is dimly lit, cosy and has a very rustic charm about it. We visited on a Saturday night, the place was full and the atmosphere was good. We only popped in for a dink at first but was really taken in by the place and so stopped to eat. There were many beers on... More

I very much liked the cosy "brown-pup" atmosphere, the interesting menu with Norwegian specialities and also the helpful service. The menu are changed from time to time. The beer menu also offers a lot of exciting beers for beers lovers, both Norwegian and foreign beers. Definitely a place to revisit. However, I still can´t give it top score, since I... More
