Absolutely top notch food and service all the way. A lot of new tastes. Always a story behind every serving and ingredient, often told by the responsible chef. We were a couple and ordered one wine-menu and one juice-menu. This was great as we shared both and had even more tasting-experiences to draw from. And it was a satisfying amount... More

We have tried the 20 courses tasting menu and we really love the traditional norwegian food. All the food offered is organic. Very nice staff and decoration. At last the also gave us the menu which listed out all dishes. Highly recommend if you want to try fine dining in Oslo. P.S. Sports shoes are allowed and it is very... More

I booked this restaurant months ago and finally went with a friend last night. The 17 course dinner was magnificent and gastronomic! The service was also very pleasant and attentive. In all a great experience. We would love to come back in Summer and try out the new courses.

Much ado about nothing. Seriously don't like to pull a place apart this much but I was a really let down. The wine pairing was like non identical twins who were always fighting and the actual quality was very much below par for that price. My suggestion is to get a wine master at those prices you can afford to.... More

I visited with a friend of mine who's a starred chef and we had the pleasure of sitting at the chef's table upstairs overlooking the kitchen. Our meal was a 20+ courses outdoor walk around Norway, including everything that is growing out there (and edible). Beautifully composed flavours and the highest level of attention in structuring and presenting the meal... More

The most wanderful and amazing restaurant that I had ever visit. A unique gastronomic experience. The chef and all his team work very hard to create the most fine dishes with scandinavian ingredients treated very carefully. Awsome new ingredients or traditional ingredients treated with new cooking methods. Excelent service, but the staff work around 15 hours per day to give... More

Maaemo offered a wonderful, at some points, daring journey through 20 courses at Chef Esben Holmboe Bang’s northern most Michelin starred restaurant on the planet. Maaemo is located near Oslo’s up and coming Barcode district with views of the train tracks emanating from Oslo Central Station. The name is old Norse for “Mother Earth,” and despite its urban location, Chef... More

Fantastic experience, food was amazing and the friendliest staff of any restaurant we have visited. All food was regional and came with an explanation and description of how it had been prepared. A real foodie experience.

The staff was fantastic and we got a very special greeting when we arrived at the resturant. Our table was fantastic. A separate room on floor up from the rest and with with a view to the kitchen. During the meal that lasted 5 hours we were served by multiple of the chefs and each of them was brilliant at... More

Nothing short of amazing. This was gourmet extravaganza, but with a down-to-earth Nordic touch to it all (and "all" is a lot).
