Statholdergaarden is a very classic restaurant. It is one of the few left. If you want top food, wine and not at least, great service, visit them. Very quiet (no music :-) Very knowledgeable personel, within both wine and food. Very good selection of wines, many from France, but also many other countries represented. They have two 6-courses menu and then... More

The food was wonderful and the setting lovely. The old home was recently painted and the frieze on the ceiling and decorative scrolling was memorable. As the wait staff took away one course the next plate was immediately brought until we asked them to slow down. We could hardly swallow one bite before the next was in front of us.... More

We had the 5 dish menu including wine for each coarse. This is French style with small nicely prepared dishes and also very nice extra starting dishes The personnel were service oriented and the restaurant is located in an old building with a nice atmosphere. This is a quite expensive restaurant,. Especially the price of wine for the different dishes is... More

It's so delicious , creative and just top notch. The restaurant is small, so it might be smart to book a table. It's perfect for family dinner... More

We dined on 22 Dec, the last service before closing for the holidays, and were treated like royalty. Our dinner began with a delicious glass of champagne, our Sommelier (well soon to be) Nickie Larsen, recommended a great bottle, she followed it up with an amazing wine pairing with our meal. We ordered the 5 course prix fixe menu option... More

Such glorious food. Wonderful different tastes. great appetizers from the chef. We had the five course meal as the degustation meal was more than $450 aussie dollars each. It was quite enough food. The wine waiter was fantastic and sadly we didn't leave him a tip mainly because i paid for once and was confused.I still feel bad about that.... More

Great staff, very attentive. Food superbly cooked. Good variety of different flavors and such a pretty way of presentation of it all.

One of the finest gourmet restaurants in Oslo, located in a 17th-century building in the old city centre. The ceiling has some of the finest stucco work in Northern Europe. The chef, Bent Stiansen, won the prestigious chef championship Bocuse d'Or in 1993. Order from the à la carte menu or try the six-course menu of the day. The menu is composed of the best ingredients available at the time Stiansen uses high-quality Norwegian ingredients, coloured by European tradition. Chambre separée for 8-24 persons. In the basement you find the more informal Statholderens Krostue, which is open for both lunch and dinner.
