Location and contact

One of the finest gourmet restaurants in Oslo, located in a 17th-century building in the old city centre. The ceiling has some of the finest stucco work in Northern Europe. The chef, Bent Stiansen, won the prestigious chef championship Bocuse d'Or in 1993. Order from the à la carte menu or try the six-course menu of the day. The menu is composed of the best ingredients available at the time Stiansen uses high-quality Norwegian ingredients, coloured by European tradition. Chambre separée for 8-24 persons. In the basement you find the more informal Statholderens Krostue, which is open for both lunch and dinner.

Like most of the new nordic food, every dish is beautiful. As to the taste and creativity, I would say it is quite moderate, and quite conservative. You can find very similar receipts from cooking books. There is no daring combination or play of food,...More

There’s not a huge amount to say about the tasting menu that we experienced on Saturday except that everything (the food, wine and service) was faultless. Yes it is expensive but it’s to be expected in Oslo, but the whole experience makes it 100% worthwhile!

The food, the service, the decor - all flawless leading to a fabulous and memorable experience! Every occasion becomes special. We took dear friends for their farewell dinner and they were just sorry not to have known/visited the restaurant during their posting in Oslo.

A large group of us were treated to dinner at this top grade restaurant (Michelin 2017). The ambiance was excellent in the "cellar". Good decor, staff, company, drink and food. Every luscious course and wine was introduced to us, in detail, by our waiter. A...More

The depth of skills and knowledge of Bent Stiansen and his crew are apparent from you enter the restaurant until the evening is over. The team manages to create a relaxed atmosphere at the same time as it is an elegant experience. But, most importantly,...More

This Michelin star restaurant is the best in Oslo in my view. The quality of the meal and wine is top class. The rooms are nice and old style. The service is high quality and you feel taken care of.
