We bar ten couples visited the place. We were there on Saturday at 19:00, and realized we were old, because it was only us there that early. We had a very nice waiter, that's important. I responded that the menu was very small, but what they could offer was good. I got Hjort, and was excited about the preparation, they nailed it! The venison was tender and perfectly cooked. They had two desserts. I don't remember what I got, but it was lovely. Ask if there won't be more trips here.

Delicious Christmas Buffet

The restaurant is located in the ground floor of the Thon Hotel Skien in the city center. It’s keep in a traditional pub style. We had Christmas buffet, and that was very delicious and offered the typical Norwegian specialities of the season. Top! If you don’t get parking at the hotel there are large parking places (fee) in the surrounding area.

I ate at the "hotel restaurant" and was very pleased with the home made lasagne that was served in the restaurant. The staff was serviceminded and nice, and the food was tasty and with a genuine feeling of quality to it. I liked the restaurant and will come back again next time I´m in Skien. Recommended!

British surroundings (carpet, furniture, huge paintings), and very stylish. It's not cheap, but the food is very good. They also have a childrens meny and are very flexible with children

Better than I expected for a hotel restaurant.

Ordered the duck with vegetables and a delicious sauce. Not quite gourmet, but a close second. Good selection of wines, and my Italian selection was great. Desert sounded better on the menu than it tasted, but was more than acceptable. Service was with a smile. Very professional, yet friendly. Will try the lamb this evening. They serve bread with a variety of dips (many places are doing this these days), and the mayonnaise-based dip was great. A nice start to the meal. Especially if you are a guest at the Thon Høyer Hotel in Skien, you should not be reluctant to try out this hotel restaurant.
