I was looking for a popular seafood restaurant and this place seemed solid. I had a lobster soup and a gratinated cod, that's it. I really wanted to try a dessert too but the main cod was huge. I was actually about to give up though managed to finish it. It was a really generous portion, I probably skip a... More

Still the same wonderful laid-back atmosphere that most people remember. The kitchen seems well run and had great menu. This is a fish restaurant and was formerly known as one of the best in Norway. They're back! Try the famous lobster bisque as a starter - best there is :) Any of their main courses seemed to be a bliss.... More

I have been here two times after the re-opening with new owners. Still the same good atmosphere, friendly staff and very good food. Lobster soup is a sure winner for the starters and bacalhau (salt cod) for main course.

Beautiful restaurant by the sea, in the town centre of this amazing special city, on the west coast of Norway. Fantastic fresh seafood dishes, lovely atmosphere, excellent service and extremely popular. Such a shame it has closed down ....

It was the best fish restaurant in Ålesund, and now the owner has decidet to close it. It is too bad becase businesses in Ålesund used this restaurant for representation, and many came to the city just to eat here.

To bad this restaurant is closing. We have enjoyed dinner here a few times and the food has always been really good. The same can be said for the wine and the very professional service. Get a table while you can.

By Brosundet canal you can enjoy exquisite seafood at Sjobua Fiskerestaurant. The courses are made in accordance with the areas food traditions. Tanks inside the restaurant keep the fish fresh. Sjobua Fiskerestaurant is situated in a renovated warehouse used for fish processing. Here you can enjoy a delicious sortiment of courses with fish and shellfish, made from fresh raw materials. Try tasty meals with for instance monkfish, cod, halibut, catfish and stingray. Fishing boats deliver fresh crabs and lobsters to the restaurant, and they are kept in crab pots outside in Brosundet canal. Inside the restaurant there are also special tanks where live shellfish and fish are held, so the guests are treated to fresh seafood of the highest quality, and a beautiful view of Brosundet canal from the restaurants gives a pleasant setting for the meal.
