This lamentable establishment is notable only for the following: stale beer, overpriced food and drink, lazy and disinterested staff, lack of any visible leadership, pitiful service and unacceptable level of cleanliness. In short, avoid!More

Great pub we had lunch food was lovely. Staff were really friendly especially Holly who was great and also there all day and night. She didn’t stop worked a long shift but was so friendly and cheerful. Would certainly recommend
Hi Tony, thank you for your great review. We will most certainly pass your comments onto Holly and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Many thanks, The Stage Door team.
Given that this is a pub you would think they could keep good beer We had 3 different ales and all were returned Dreadful
Hi there, we're so sorry that you didn't have a great experience at your pub. We've taken your feedback on board and will be sure to look into it, thank you.
The pub is OK if you're going for a drink, watch the screen, or tennis. Its supposedly owned by the council. Food quality is low, presented poorly, and is overpriced. For example, the worst wilted greens, should be in the rubbish bin, is balled up...and put on the plate. The fish, or overly thin steak is piled on top of chips making it difficult to cut into as there's no room on the small plate. Twice there and I'll never go back. Tables are sticky from poor cleaning. Handy man and wait staff stand around talking about their personal lives and they ignore their table customers. Tried speaking to the waitress and duty manager but it's obvious their knowledge of customer service and/ or customer psychology is nil and of no interest to them. Instead, they're quick to mock the customer. They're there for the social drop in, theyre not focused on food for customers. Hopefully the business will survive on drink sales, crisps and chips, next to the theatre.More

You can tell its a mixture of locals and out of towners that go to make a great atmosphere. Hats off to the Manager/Owner who has taken time to motivate and enthuse his staff as they were all on the ball and extremely willing to...please. Relatively speaking, prices are good and whilst we did not eat there the food being served up looked of a high quality. Wish it was my local.More
Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us a great review about our pub and staff. We do hope you try out our delicious menu next time you visit.
We really enjoyed visiting this pub. The staff made a huge fuss of the dogs, brought them treats and a water bowl and were generally fantastic. My wife enjoyed a delicious brie and onion tart and I enjoyed stuffed mushrooms, followed by a minced beef...hotpot served with root vegetables. We will definitely return because we were made to feel so welcome.More
Thank you for your great review! We're really pleased you enjoyed your visit, we do love it when customers bring their furry friends :)
The lounge is nice but the state of the Gent toilet uhhhh lots of pee on the floor and we all understand what the carpet outside contains then uhhhhhh
Just 400 metres away from our rented flat we like going to this friendly pub with usually 3 or 4 real ales. Its has a great atmosphere and plenty of seating with 4 snugs. The staff behind the counter are helpful and greet you warmly.
Hi David, thank you for your positive review and really pleased you enjoy visiting us! We hope to see you again soon.
Booked a booth table on a Wednesday before going to see Queen Extravaganza at Congress Theatre. We were served quickly by friendly staff and ordered the Wednesday offer of Steak & glass of wine for £16.00. Steak was delicious, very tender served with chips, mushroom...and tomato & salad garnish.Good value inc wine and nice to have sharp steak knives. Nice too that you get 10% off with proof of theatre tickets.More
Thank you for your great review! We're pleased that you enjoyed your pre theatre dinner and it is really is a bonus with the discount too! Hope to see you again soon.
We have never eaten here but decided to give it a go. Surprisingly nice, hot and fresh. Staff friendly, and we got served straight away. One thing I'd say is sort the beer lines out, we are put off going more often, we have been...a handful of times, as my partner is a lager drinker and the lines are defo not cleaned as regular as they could be.More

Disappointed and surprised to be told while choosing from the menu that the kitchen had just closed because it had taken a ‘big order’. This was fifteen minutes before advertised time for last orders. Surprised as we should have been our two meal order may...be delayed due to ‘big order’ but we were not given the opportunity.More
Came here with my husband and every front of house staff member were busy on there phones and not taking there job seriously at all. Made us feel uncomfortable at times. 1 staff worker seem to be doing everything whilst the others did sod all..the...only highlight of the evening was the foodMore
