Looking for a light and tasty cafe to sit down and have some Chinese soup. Alas only takeaway now. Otherwise 5 star. Very pleasant chap at the front, took our promptly and 10 minutes later we had two huge portions on roast pork noodle soup....Very tasty, but real torture to eat with plastic spoons and chopsticks on the sea front. Challenge accepted and completed.More
We had a takeout from Shanghai Time it was delicious! What more can you say, apart from we will be eating from here Many more time’s!!!
Had a take away Saturday evening at 6pm Started throwing up an hour and a half later and then sick for 13 hours . I ate half ot the salt and pepper cispy beef and put the other half in the fridge sealed which my...wife ate the following day and was also an hour and a half later very sick . I reported this to the restaurant to let them know as I am a regular and an apology would have been good enough and a we will make sure it doesn't happen again would have been acceptable . I was told by the manager that the beef was fresh and so far no one else had complained ,I then reiterated that an apology would be fine which the lady struggled to do suggesting that I have a CORONA VIRUS TEST !!!! Needless to say they are now off ours and our friends take away lists !!!!More
We ordered takeaway for delivery which arrived promptly. One of the dishes which appealed was twice cooked pork. A bit pricey at £9.20, but thought it would be a decent dish given the price. Having arrived the rest of the meal was OK, which included...half crispy roast duck. The twice cooked pork dish consisted of only three bits of gelatinous pork belly and the rest was tofu as a substitute for the lack of pork. We called the restaurant and he said he would get the manager to call us back when got in. Needless to say no phone call arrived. Absolute rip off paired with no response. Definately will not be using again in the future.More
Fabulous take away best food we’ve had in a long while Both curries very tasty and fab chicken spicy balls Would highly recommend
We placed an order last night at 5.30pm and was told it would be delivered at 6.45pm. The website was easy to use and had a timer counting down the time until delivery. 6.45pm came & went and I phoned at 7.15pm and was told...it was delayed. Other people had put on here they had a text if it was going to be late but we heard nothing. It finally came at 7.45pm, it was hot & tasty but we were beyond hungry by then. This was the first time we had used them & wanted to try a family run business but sadly we won’t use again.More
Orders food at 7:30 told 9pm delivery which was fine. 9:42 and the food is still not here.. place is a joke.. no point ordering if you can’t supply the order on time. If your hungry don’t order from this place EVER
It came quickly, but sweet and sour sauce was awful, bright artifical red colour with sugar and vinegar and floury taste really horrible. The only nice part was the crispy spring rolls. Prawn balls were okay, but too much batter, but the whole meal left...me with a hot burning sensation in my mouth - probably the flavour enhancer or too much salt. Never again.More
Finally Eastbourne has a Chinese takeaway which serves something different from traditional Cantonese takeaways. We ordered some classical Shanghai dishes like wonton soup(馄饨), chicken pickled vegetables noodle soup (雪菜鸡丝面), stewed pork in soy sauce(红烧肉). And you can get bubble tea without having to travel to...Brighton. A bitb small portion of Shanghai special dishes compared to other traditional Cantonese ones but that's also what it's famous for after all. Well done👍More
The food here is excellent, always. It's so nice to be able to order a takeaway knowing that it will be good. I ordered a new dish this time - a soup that came with shredded chicken, actually quite large pieces (all moist and tender,...perfect), pickled vegetables - which turned out to be just green leaves, they tasted really lovely - not overly pickled, so I didn't get too strong a taste of this when eating my soup, there was also a whole container of pale coloured noodles - very tasty, the soup broth was fantastic, very good. All together this was such a lovely dish. I took a photo when I'd put it all together - I only used about a third of the noodles and found it to be very filling. I also got a half portion of the chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce, they were crispy outside and the chicken was moist inside, delicious as always. Everyone wanted some of the dumplings, so we got the minced pork, prawns, chive and egg ones - we've had these before and like them the best out of all the dumplings. The flavours just blend together perfectly - we get these steamed. I've taken a photo of one dumpling to show what it looks like whole and one in half so you can see what it looks like inside! This time my takeaway took a little longer than usual, about 1 hour 10/15 minutes. At least they keep you informed here, I was sent one text informing me it would be delayed - it said a 25 minute delay, but then I got another text about 10 minutes later to say it was on its way and it arrived very soon after that. Thank you Shanghai Time for your lovely meals, can't wait until the next one!More
Me and my partner always order from here and it is by far the best Chinese in Eastbourne. Food is always hot and very tasty. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to write a review because they deserve the praise. Delivery time...is prompt, I would recommend using their website rather than just eat. Very well done! Will continue to eat here.More
Very authentic and a great number of menu options. Very good Shanghai dumplings, juicy and well flavoured! I also love bubble milk tea so am ecstatic I can finally get some in eastbourne.
Have ordered many take aways from here now - always using their online site as it gives you an extra 10% discount and is very easy to use. There is a 40p charge made and if you spend enough, you get free delivery, making it...much cheaper than using JustEat. I love the chicken chow mein, it's very tasty. I recently tried the prawn chow mein but didn't find it as tasty as the chicken one! It needed more soy sauce added to give it flavour. I'm a Type 1 diabetic, on insulin, which means I am susceptible to becoming ill very easily if a place doesn't follow good hygiene rules - I'm delighted to say this place is obviously extremely clean and good with food because I've never once been ill :) I would highly recommend people to either eat here or order take aways. This is my favourite Chinese take away as it is the best in Eastbourne.More
I was looking on Just Eat for a take away for our family and this name popped up which I didn't recognise. Came onto Trip Advisor to see if any reviews and found there were only 3, all very good so thought I'd try it...out. Firstly I'd recommend ordering through their website, going through to it from TA, when on their homepage, click on menu and you can easily register and then do your order online which you get a 10% discount and there's no delivery charge - which on Just Eat is £1.50, so it's much cheaper to do this way - there is a 40p service charge but that is it. You can pay by card or cash, I paid the delivery driver (a very polite and friendly young man), in cash. When I ordered online it said the order would take 45 minutess. When you register if you add your mobile phone number, they will text you when your order is about to arrive - it worked perfectly and my order came after only 30 minutes, even better!! I'd put my email address as well and got a confirmation email that my order had been received and they listed all the dishes I'd ordered in a very clear way, brilliant. The whole set up was very impressive. We opened up our order - some of us had ordered the same dishes, I took a photo of everything we ordered - Honey ribs - this was the only dish we were a little disappointed with because they didn't taste of honey very much and were dry, they tasted ok though Chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce - there were 8, all a good size with a lot of chicken inside which was tasty and moist and the batter was crispy. The sweet and sour sauce was excellent, just how I like it, sweet. Chicken in oyster sauce - lots of chicken, lots of veg, lots of sauce, my son said this was very tasty and good Chicken with cashew nuts - two people ordered this, both liked it, a good amount of both chicken and nuts and sauce Singapore fried rice - this was yellow and smelt of curry, it had various meats and veg in, my son really liked it Egg fried rice - tasted as it should, lots of egg, very nice Chicken chow mein - two of us had this, it was lovely - lots of moist chicken, onlon, did find one large chunk of spring onion in mine! The noodles were perfect. Our order came to £41.50 less discount of 10%, £37.75 - so I gave our delivery driver £40 and told him to keep the change as was so pleased to get it so quickly and he was so nice! We also got a very small bag of complimentary prawn crackers! Cannot wait to order from here again!More
Thank you for your review,I am sorry about the ribs ,we will make it better next time ! Hope see you soon.
