Booked a table at The Marine for family & friends over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Being a Sunday lunchtime it was very busy! Whilst we waited for our meals to arrive it allowed us all to admire the incredible decorations covering every inch of the ceilings! Extremely pretty 🎄 Surprisingly all our meals arrived at the table after a short wait and we were not disappointed. Some of our party decided on having a traditional roast dinner which was enjoyed by all plus 3 of the other diners choose freshly battered fish & chips which arrived piping hot with a lovely crispy batter. The meals were not overly priced and would certainly recommend dropping by and trying their menu.

The lamb cuury wasn't small pieces of lamb as is usual but a large lamb steak - very tender. The sauce/vegetable were also good and the portion of rice was double what I've had elsewhere. My wife had the chicken which she struggled to eat - it seemed like both breasts of a young bird. the veg and chips were equally generous

Although we’ve eaten here many times, we’ve never had Sunday lunch. What chumps! We had the lamb and the pork and both came with good portions of meat, well cooked carrots, broccoli and cabbage, roasties and amazing dauphinois potatoes - all piping hot and amazing value at £8.95. Soooo much better than the cold meal with raw veg at twice the price we ate at Littlingon the previous week. A trip to Eastbourne is not complete without a visit to The Marine. Ps great staff too

We were staying at a Local Bed and Breakfast for 5 nights and just down the road we found this gem of a pub serving the best pub food we have had in years . The prices were so good , the food so tasty and the staff so very very friendly we never went anywhere else so ate there for all the 5 nights .. plenty of choice on the menu but our favorite was the Steak and Ale pie , all food homemade . What can I say Thanks for the lovely food and some of the friendliest staff we have come across . Wish we had a pub like this where we live.

My wife and I visited 13th September 2020. We had a Sunday roast and the ribs, both meals were absolutely fantastic. Cooked perfectly, very tasty. Lovely staff and a great pub. So good we went back on the 17th September. My wife had the fish pie and I had the chicken fajitas again beautifully cooked, large portions and really nicely served. Great place.

Nice, friendly service but food was a bit hit & miss. Some of it seemed like good quality like the steak pie whereas other food disappointing like the breaded Camembert, all breadcrumb and hard to find any Camembert. I was pleased it was EOTHO so was half price. I wouldn’t have felt it was good value if I had paid full price for any of the dishes. So on that basis I wouldn’t return unless it had a good deal.

We went here for a drink in the lovely garden which was a little suntrap. The service was excellent and on seeing the food served at lunch we decided to go back for an evening meal. We were not disappointed and although we hadn't booked a table we were accommodated in the lovely conservatory. The food is pub grub with specials and of a good quality and large portions. I would definitely recommend this little gem of a pub.

Whilst having a 2 night break in Eastbourne to celebrate our wedding anniversary we went to the marine pub as recommended on trip advisor. We were not disappointed. We were primarily served by Shanice, but 2 other staff also made us welcome and feel safe in a very friendly atmosphere. All covid rules were followed. The food was plentiful, hot and tasty. Would highly recommend visiting this pub if in Eastbourne and wanting good food. Thank you.

Been here a few times both during the day and in the evening. There is a friendly atmosphere and the staff are always very helpful. The food is typically pub grub but good value for money. The bonus for us is they are happy for customers to bring in their well behaved dogs as so many places don't these days.

Visited on March 15th for a meal. The welcome was friendly and the food good and wholesome, big meals. There were 6 of us, and a large group before us but the manager apologised for the wait, kept us informed and even gave us some bread sticks to nibble. We had a lovely evening, made very welcome and would definitely visit again when next in Eastbourne

Had reservations at 6:00, when they open, and was good thing. A good number of others flooded in when the doors opened. Service was at first a bit crazy which could have been because of the rush at opening, but was generally quite good. My wife ordered fajitas; the plate and food was very hot (which she really liked), and the tortillas were kept in a pan or dish covered by the plate, keeping them warm and moist until ready to be used. First time we had seen this and worked quite well. It also saved space on the table making dining a bit easier. I had the lasagna which was adequate, but a little on the bland side for me. Serving sizes were more than ample, and after a long day of walking at Beachy Head, we didn't leave much on our plates. The atmosphere was more subdued and family-oriented than the previous night's pub, but we had a very good meal and appreciated the suggestion/recommendation of our B&B host.

Our hosts at our accommodation (the excellent Bassets House) recommended this pub for dinner, saying they often dined there themselves. Good choice. We ended up eating there on all five nights of our stay. Seems odd, maybe, but there was a reasonably extensive menu which meant we could have a different choice each evening. Top class, well kept Harvey’s ale, too. Pleasant staff, good prices. Highly reccommended.

Dined there 9 and 10 of October 2022, fish and chips, Thai curry with prawns, Chicken fajitas and chili chicken fajitas were all excellent. The portions were large. I was offered chips or rice with the curry, then quickly suggested a half portion of each. The chips were some of the best ever and so hot they will still really hot down to the last chip. I think a shared fajita plus a started might have been better. One portion has 3 large wraps and plenty to fill them. Desserts are limited - sticky toffee pudding, chocolate cake or icecream - but after a large main course ice cream was enough. The dining area at the rear is very pleasant as is the bar area to the front.
