First time and the staff was very friendly. Really nice atmosphere and Christmas decorations were a delight to my eyes.

Visiting some old friends, we were looking for a place to have a few beers and get some food, ended up in The Marine where we were greeted with a warm welcome. After a few beers sitting in the comfy chairs at the front of...the bar, we headed to the tables at the back and ordered food at the bar from a variety of enticing dishes on the menu. The Thai Red curry was amazing, and my fellow companions said their steak and ale pie / cheese burger etc were equally delicious. Big portions, served hot, great beer great service. So good we returned the following week. Another warm welcome and a short wait whilst the landlord changed a barrel in order to satisfy our request, but more great food and good service. The Xmas decorations are amazing and deserve a special mention. Beats ‘neverspoons’ hands down, highly recommended.More
We stumbled on this pub by accident whilst staying nearby & so pleased we did , what a lovely experience. We were greeted by a lovely lady who told us the kitchen was just about to shut so we were able to hastily make an...order. Clean friendly local with very good food , reasonably priced. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit & would highly recommend.More
On holiday in Eastbourne last week and Googled ‘restaurants’. The Marine came up and looked fine. Went on Saturday and we were not disappointed. The staff advised a different entrance for us as we had a wheelchair and wanted us to avail ourselves of all...the Marine had to offer. Very friendly server provided drinks and took our orders. The garlic mushroom starter and the prawn cocktail starter were to die for! The scampi was ‘melt in the mouth’. Everything cooked to order and very hot and the prices were excellent. This will be our ‘go to’ place when we return to Eastbourne in the Spring and Autumn.More
I’ve lived in Eastbourne for over 38 years and I’ve never been to this pub. We had a Sunday lunch of roast Turkey and others in our group had roast lamb. Quality of the food was amazing, 3 decent size dinners that totalled £30 plus...drinks - brilliant, we will be back. RecommendMore
A traditional family run pub in a clean no-frills establishment. We had two excellent mains, no room left for pudding. The Harvey's Sussex Bitter was in perfect condition.. There was a 30 minute wait for the food as the place was fairly full: always a...good sign. We live 200 miles away, but If we are ever in the area again we will return. Highly recommended.More

Great home cooked pub food at a very reasonable price. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived and were shown to our table after being offered a drink. My wife had garlic prawns to start with, me having deep fried camembert i...had the rib eye steak for main and my wife the burger both were very tasty. The service was very good throughout. Drinks were also very reasonably priced. Very enjoyable evening and would 100% retirement in Eastbourne again. Thanks.More
Great traditional, friendly pub. Warm welcome on arrival, varied menu, great prices, local beers. Recommend cod and chips
We ate here the 4 nights of our holiday and we were greeted every night in a friendly manner by the bar staff and also the waitresses were always ready to get you another drink and bring your meals and seemed happy in their job.the...food was outstanding and was reasonably priced as was the drinks we will return when back in eastbourneMore
This pub never disappoints us. Busy airshow week so booked well in advance. Good food at a really good price. Love their fajitas in there. Good choice of food and excellent service. The servers are always busy but have always found them cheerful and welcoming....Was going to knock a point off as run out of Eton mess which was disappointing but was told straight away on ordering mains if we were thinking of desserts it was unavailable, backs up point of good service. We try to visit eastbourne once a year and always come here after being told about it on first visit a few years ago. Well done all the team.More
Staying nearby during the Eastbourne airshow we chanced upon the Marine and we are so glad we did. Good beer and superb food (recommend the fish and chips) . The staff were super friendly too.
Where do I begin? I made a reservation with Sarah, on the day we were going to be late, so I phoned and a chap said no problem. Staff here are great, very friendly and helpful, check back, brought us more drinks to our table....Faultless. Very clean place, nicely decorated, great background music, not too loud either. The food here is to die for, garlic prawns starter was excellent, nice citrus in the garlic butter too. Chips are scrumptious, crispy outside, light and fluffy inside, perfect. Chilli chicken fajitas were really good, more like Cajun chicken than chilli, but sizzling hot, great avocado, sour cream and salsa, plus warm tortillas too. Excellent dish. All in all a brilliant place to eat, and we will definitely be back next time we’re in Eastbourne. Thank you Sarah, and the chef, for a really wonderful lunch.More
A cracking, traditional pub. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and there was a good choice of beers and spirits (including some excellent malt whiskies) The food really was excellent quality with a good selection on the menu. Whether you just want a drink...or a meal or both I couldn’t recommend The Marine highly enough.More
This is a fantastic pub been serving the locals of eastbourne for decades, friendly faces behind the bar which is incredibly stocked, great ambience so welcoming. The food is also awesome massive choice and affordable prices great quality. I had seafood platter - poached salmon,...smoked salmon, prawns, avocado , salad and tiger prawns fabulous. Husband had sea bass with veg very tasty. Great to see Andy behind the bar after 25 years my last visit has not changed amazingly the same welcoming clean and comfortable place to spend quality time with friends and family. Was a treat to visit and remember all those years ago.More
