I called into this restaurant after reading Trip Advisor reviews as I was away on business alone and wanted a good home cooked meal, not a fancy hotel dish. Firstly the staff were warm and friendly, offering me a choice of table where i would feel most comfortable. Secondly the ambience was lovely and there was a mixture of couples and groups as well as single diners. Thirdly the menu is great. I was really hungry and wanted healthy so I chose the jacket potato and it came in a side bowl on the plate to hold the very generous amount of fillings away from the side salad. It was cooked to perfection and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Having seen other meals being served I dont think there is a bad choice and I wish I could have re visited for the fish and chips. This is a licenced restaurant and I noticed that the drinks are very reasonably priced as well. Overall this is a lovely restaurant with great wholesome food and lovely staff. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal in Lladudno.

I’m sure by reading every review on here you’ll see that we’ve all enjoyed the food and the service and that’s exactly what myself and my family experienced when we ate out at Home Cookin’. From the second you step thru the door to the moment you walk out nothing is to much for these young ladies who serve you. We went when the “Eat out to help out” was running but even if that offer wasn’t on we would have gladly have paid the full price for our fantastic tasting dishes, from the Garlic mushroom that we tried (wish we had got one each) to the Welsh pate and down to the full fruit cheesecake (again one for sharing when it should have been one each) This is the place to go for a fantastic family meal or couples night out, the food was cooked to perfection the atmosphere was fabulous the young female servers couldn’t do enough for anyone not just us. **Now at this present moment in time there is a black cloud hanging over everyone called Covid-19 & to hear someone coughing & not stopping, while your trying to enjoy your meal was ok (before Mar) but now it’s scary, & it has you thinking but when you realise that it’s just because they ate to fast while enjoying there meal & a piece of pastry had gone down the wrong way from there very tasty Steak n Ale pie & only the quick thinking of a young female server named “Cerys” who gave me a glass of water to help make the situation a lot easier, was all I needed** Without a doubt I would recommend anyone to eat here as much as they can, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks again to Cerys and her quick thinking, your a credit to this restaurant......

Fantastic Staff and Fantastic Food

The staff were excellent with quick and efficient service. We hadn't booked but were able to get a table without waiting and very soon after ordering our meals we were given fulsome and tasty food (the fishcake was A+ and the stake pie was A++). Never been before but will be going again whenever we are in the area. Highly recommended - five stars.

Horrible food

I last visited this place 5 years ago, it was fine. This time yuk hated everything. I was with my mum, we both ordered garlic mushrooms and both thought it had strange taste with weird texture mushrooms. I had pie it was awful had soggy pastry tasted horrid not home made. Mum had turkey dinner she thought it was very poor specially the deep fried "roast potatoes". All the food was very hot and the waitress was pleasant and helpful but the bland poor quality food means we would never return . We went to Carlos the previous evening and it was amazing...go there instead.

We strutted from place to place to place in the the desperate hope a table could be secured on a Saturday evening to feed a gaggle of hungry hippos. Felt lucky to procure seats outside of this this place; observing the plates which were delivered as we fingered our paper menus, we began to salivate from every orifice. The aroma of freshly cooked food bellowed from inside as the waitresses minced around with biro pens wearing their hair in donuts serving manhattan realness. After a short wait, a delivery of frozen microwavable meals were dropped off at the table. Hardly home cooking. I’m beginning to really appreciate the talents of the menu writers; my gosh they are expertise at polishing turrds. The wine was mediocre- the type you would buy three for a fives from Threshers in the late eights. I should have gone to the local chippy- large gravy n chips on a bap it’ll be for me next time. Lovely toilets though 👍

After arriving a little late with no booking I was told that there were no available tables inside and that they could accommodate me but only outside. I opted to be a lunatic for the evening and took them up on the offer of a table outside. I was seen to promptly and placed my order for the Roast Welsh lamb & vegetables. My food arrived in a very timely fashion & as I began to tuck in I was informed that a table had become available and I was invited inside. The food was delicious, home cooked, restaurant quality food and at a very reasonable price. You could tell that all the food had been prepared on site with no pre-prepped vegetables, frozen meals or packets involved. I went for the Apple & Blackberry crumble for dessert which was also delicious. At only £22.50 for a main course, dessert and a pint of Welsh lager I thought it was excellent value. My only regret is that I had no cash on me and therefore I was unable to leave my waitress a tip. Hopefully she will see this review and know that I was a happy customer! Thoroughly recommend if you're ever in Llandudno.

We were excited about coming here as this restaurant seemed very popular. Ordered fish and chips, but unfortunately the fish was so greasy that the oil was literally dripping off the plates. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the quality of the food was not good.

We have eaten at Home Cookin' many times. The steak meal was cooked to perfection and great value for money. Every time we eat here we are always pleased with whatever we eat. We highly recommend Home Cookin' and are looking forward to the next time we visit.

On our third visit to Llandudno we visited Home Cooking. Service was very good but the food was outstanding so we ate their three nights on the trot excellent food and at a very good price. Could not have been better

Good Meal for Two

Came here several years ago and so decided to visit again on my recent weekend visit to LLandudno. The young girls serving seemed very friendly. The garlic mushrooms to start were delicious served with really tasty crusty bread and my partner had fishcake as a starter. For main I had rump steak with chips and my partner had a steak and ale pie. Both were delicious. I would prefer ribeye or sirloin on the menu as I find those cuts tastier but that's just personal preference. We unfortunately had no room left over for a dessert but I eyed up the table next to us tucking into theirs and I did feel a bit of cheesecake envy! The other thing that we liked is that the price of a bottle of wine was a little more realistic than most places. It's a nice cosy place, small but not too cramped and we'll be back there again on our next visit.

I cannot praise this place high enough. We always eat here whenever we visit Llandudno but due to the lockdown, we opted for their delivery service. We ordered 8 meals and they were delivered in half an hour, piping hot, beautifully cooked and the driver even returned ten minutes later with another portion of chips as the chef was unhappy with the original portions but didn’t want the food spoiled waiting for them! First class food, first class service.

Fabulous Place to Dine

As a family we have been dining here when on holiday in Llandudno for over 28 years. We have never, in all those years, ever experienced anything other than delicious meals. If you wish to choose from a varied menu, homemade fayre served in tasteful surroundings by pleasant, efficient staff, then "Home Cookin'" is the place for you! Whilst on holiday we have dined here for the past 3 evenings and found it to be excellent as always and the Covid19 control measures that are in place made us feel comfortable and confident. Well done yet again to you all for a wonderful dining experience.

Marvellous staff lovely food

We managed to sneak in without a reservation, which we were hugely relieved about after having been served inedible plates elsewhere (give Fortes a wide berth) Staff were extremely welcoming and attentive throughout our evening. The food was lush! Both had a pie, the pastry is PERFECT. Chips were homemade real potato and fresh, and even the peas were served - just- too hot to eat! Accompanied by very nice wine, Home Cooking saved our last evening in Llandudno 👍

Lovely little place

Cosy restaurant, proper homely food, I had the salmon in a creamy sauce, one had lovely fish and chips,chips were real chippy chippy chips, fish was like a whale! Hubby had fishcakes with new potatoes and salad. We had gorgeous berry cheesecake and cream and a creme brulee for dessert. Both delicious. They had the eat out to help out scheme, so worked out a a great price too with a nice French white wine. All covid restrictions in place, would recommend here

Amazing food

Myself and my husband went to this lovely restaurant last night. Firstly what a lovely atmosphere. We were made to feel at home as soon as we walked through the door. The waitress took us to our table and we glanced over the menu with drinks. There was such a variety of meals I changed my mind about 4 times. I opted for salmon with a Hollandaise and tarragon sauce side of chips and a fresh salad and my husband had chicken curry with chips rice naan and mango chutney. Both meals were absolutely delicious. We were both very pleased with our choice and look forward to returning soon. Very well cooked meals very good value for money and terrific service what more can you ask for
