Visited the Carlton a couple of times during a long weekend break and were very pleased with the food and service in both occasions. Their menu is no frills, but all good quality and cheap, tasty food. The staff were lovely, friendly and a credit...to the pub. Will make this a regular for our visits to Llandudno in the future.More

I was served by Ali, she served us quickly and I received our drinks quickly despite it being a busy night! Drinks were lovely and cold! We love coming to this pub and seeing the staff! We always get service by Ali or Caitlin and...the service is always fantastic!More

We love Max! He always gives us the best customer service when we visit the Carlton, even remembering us when we haven't visitited in a while. He gave us perfect service when we asked for crisps when we had a table outside and for that...reason we love him :)More

Landlady wanted to find out if my father-in-law was having food before allowing wheelchair access to the pub. Had to download an app to order food. Food took an hour to arrive despite it being a quiet afternoon. Landlady had a poor attitude to everyone...who came in. BBQ Chicken Sub - bread was burnt and rock hard so had to take the chicken out before breaking my teeth - chicken was hard too. Daughter was given a corn-on-the-cob drizzled in ketchup, just why? In-laws had gammon which was thin and like cardboard. Overall a quite expensive, pointless experience. Would not recommend.More

This is a beautiful old pub but it's such a shame its been left in the state it has. Having said that, it seems popular. It needs painting and brightening up. It also needs a good clean, especially the windows. It could be so much...more as it is in a prime spot. Staff, particularly the manageress, weren't very welcoming or friendly.More

833154754 Myself and my sister recently went to Llandudno for a few days away and after a long journey wanted something to eat and drink. We came across The Charlton so popped in. The barman was less than friendly when we walked in, but we...ordered two drinks anyway. We asked if we ordered the food at the bar or was it table service and the barman told us ‘they weren’t serving food’ . If we’d have known this we wouldn’t have stayed for a drink as it wasn’t a very pleasant atmosphere. A family then came in and were looking at the menu and talking in Welsh and my Sister was going to tell them that they weren’t serving food, but they then got up and went to the bar and the barman took their food order!!!!!! We then finished our drinks so before we left we went to the bar to speak to the barman. Another lady was behind the bar putting out crisps and completely ignored us! The barman then came over so we asked why we’d been told they weren’t serving food but had served the other family not 20 minutes later and he said that they had ‘no knives and forks’ !!! What??? So I asked Why didn’t you come and tell us you were serving food again then? His rude reply was ‘I’m very busy I don’t have time to go round tables’!! Absolutely disgusting service, and awful behaviour to two pensioners. They must be doing very well if they can turn away custom like that but am guessing from the mixed reviews on here that the barman picks and chooses who he is rude to and maybe it’s only the tourists he doesn’t like!!! Great way to run a business!!More

To be honest. It’s easy enough just to leave the mayo and take the tomatoes off the sandwich. There’s far more important things to worry about in life.
