Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Popped in as I was recommended this place for some local ales and craft beer. Wasn’t disappointed. Great selection of beers on tap!

Came here as a group of 6. Online booking was simple and our table was there. Even on a Tuesday evening it was almost full so I recommend booking! Food was delicious and look forward to returning to try everything on the menu!

Met a friend for drinks, good size car park ✅ Covid regulations well enforced. Requested a quiet table and got one. Very attentive waitress, even though we initially went for drinks we both had a starter as a snack, both the Pate and the Lamb...Koftas were good. Would recommendMore

Visited here on Tuesday 5th November for the first time. What a great little find. Great choice of real ales, warm welcoming decor and the lady bar tender was extremely friendly. It was very quiet that evening but the atmosphere in the pub was lovely....We sat at the bar, me and my husband, and had a good old chat with the other customers in there, very friendly patrons I must say. The lady bar tender(sorry forgot her name) had a chat with us for about half hour which was really nice, lovely young lady and a credit to your business We will definitely be back.... might even become our new localMore

Only went for late drinks but it was peaceful compared to the city centre. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and free WiFi. There were plenty of choices on draft (few out of order but must be popular!). Staff were friendly and helpful with drinks...choices. Nice for a late night chin wag and chill.More

A good meeting place with a great selection of beers on tap and a solid menu for those who need a little sustenance. The beers are very well described but staff are knowledgeable and happy to help. Friendly pub with outdoor seating available.

Visit this pub fairly regularly and usually good. Please tell me - how does a pub run out of lemons & limes on a Saturday evening at 6.30pm? Warm evening, loads of choice of Gin and nothing to compliment it! POOR!

We moved to Stevenage a few months ago. Can only say that the Chequers and all the staff have been exceptionally welcoming, with exceptional beers always changing and very well kept. Have eaten on a few occasions and the food is very good. Really love...this pub, thanks to the team for making our visits relaxed and enjoyable.More
